This may sound weird, but I see Cullen struggling to get along with Viv not because she's a mage but because she's a manipulator. Given all the mindscrewing Cullen as been through, I can't see him being very patient with the games the courtiers play.

I think that the Cullenites (Are we officially that now? I mean, Mr. Ellis seems to have adopted it as well. *smile*) have done good work this week. And we don't seem to have scared anyone away, which is always nice.
I've been doing a lot of smiling to myself for the last few days, all because of (either directly or indirectly) this thread and you folks. After the winter I've had, I'm feeling very warm and fuzzy towards this particular corner of fandom.
