I don't really agree about this need to self-censor. -Especially- if it's because of naysayers and trolls, which is always a threat at any given time. The moment we have to start watching every little thing we say, post, express is the moment this thread will cease to be as fun for me. And I definitely wouldn't feel like I'd fit in here anymore.

 

Alot of us rarely leave this thread because of all the arsehats that linger around the rest of the forum. So that's why we also talk about other things. Other things which always come back to Cullen.

 

And not showing Greg Ellis things that would embarrass us personally. Not everyone will fall into that category. It's extremely hard to embarrass me, so perhaps that's why I'm just not seeing the problem. I'd have to force myself to look at it from someone elses perspective, but since I don't personally understand why it's supposed to be considered embarrassing, that's hard to do.

 

I also don't think they'd decide to close us down for such reasons, especially for off topic reasons. Not for as long running and known as this place is.

Well, I use a program called Tweetdeck when I'm at my pc, and it lets me make columns tracking certain hashtags.

R2, just to clarify, are you suggesting we avoid posting NSFW material, or that we avoid discussing non-Cullen related issues?

 

Hmm, I'm not sure. I think I'm saying don't post anything you would be embarrassed to show GE. We should be avoiding NSFW stuff anyway, or at least putting it in a link. As far as being completely OT... I'm really not sure, but if some dev were to close us down now, I'd be pretty flippin' mad. So perhaps a more concerted effort to get us back on topic couldn't hurt either.

I understand your point Xendria and I do agree that we shouldn't have to. Heck I'm not concerned about the naysayers. I'm more concerned that the increased traffic will be bring a more critical eye from those who have the power to shut this thread down. The naysayers on the forum and Tumblr can eat my shorts. I just don't wanna have our little corner of Bioware taken away because the mods or devs felt we weren't keeping to the guidelines well enough. Those guidelines are in place to protect ALL of the users and that includes some who are underage. As well as people who come here just to talk about Cullen. I'm not saying we can't still do what we do. I'm saying maybe we should try not to TOO outlandish about it.

I'm trying to think of a way for a pro-templar!Hawke's Cullen to end up in Aeonar. Perhaps it was overtaken by Red Templars? That could work. That could really work. And if Cullen is anti-Red Templar, they might toss him in for betraying their Red Lady. (I wonder if Red Templars have made Meredith their patron saint of Ass-Kicking.) A pro-mage!Hawke's Cullen could just get chucked in there for letting Hawke get away.

It would be a shock, but I can't say an unpleasant one.  Under the circumstances, it would give him a bit of a bad boy edge, at least aesthetically.  That would be...nice.

OH sure, it could, which is why that's the art I commissioned for my latest novel-length fic...  But I think for the game, they'll keep him as iconic looking as possible, particularly if he no longer wears that distinctive armor. So I'd be really surprised if that signature hair were to change.
