I just meant that I feel like we have most of the bases covered in variety when it comes to our companion backgrounds, both male and female. Maybe...a female Qunari or dwarf, instead of another human?
In regards to other female companions, is Leliana off the table for sure? I mean, she'd fit into the party as I imagine it.

I like them both, but Leliana has had so much screentime in the games and books already, and Cole... without going into too much detail to avoid spoilers. I was rooting for him to be a companion till the epilogue, but at that point I just don't see it working. Most of what we liked about him is gone, and without metagame knowledge how many Inquisitors would really feel comfortable working with him?

I'd like to see a female dwarf or qunari, but AFTER Cullen is officially confirmed as a companion. Although I'm pretty certain he is, that confirmation is always nice.

Cullen should have died in Kirkwall, but I think we can all stand for a bit of offered redemption, yes? I assume you didn't kill Sten or Zevran out of hand.
I wouldn't mind Adrian at all. I found her very sympathetic in Asunder despite not often agreeing with her. But has there been any hint at all that she's been considered as a major character in DAI?
I didn't particularly like Adrian, but I'm not expecting to like everyone in the party so having her wouldn't bother me.

...Cole actually did not become that interesting to me until the final chapter 
That's when I started to hope he would become a companion. (I was actually thinking of a romance at that point, believing he had matured from child to adult, and also didn't feel the book was conclusive as to whether he was human or spirit.)

I thought it was interesting and I liked it as a book twist. I guess I just don't see it translating well to gameplay. They could surprise me, though!
Whoa!Calm down people..Putting up with characters is not the point of the series,we're just having fun playing a game we like, no matter who the companions might be,no need to get so passionate about it...After all we're not expected to like all 9 companions we'll have in our team are we?
