I thought it was interesting and I liked it as a book twist. I guess I just don't see it translating well to gameplay. They could surprise me, though!
Oh, I see... I hardly ever think of game play xD

Enemies...
We'll always have our love of Cullen to tie us together. With zip ties, if necessary.
After all we're not expected to like all 9 companions we'll have in our team are we?
Well I confess in DA:O I reeeeeally did not like Oghren
Also confess to not being a huge Leliana or Shale fan. But didn't actively dislike them. Same with Varric. Just kind of meh.
I tend to judge characters on how complex / well-written they are, though, not on my personal feelings about the game (because to me it is just a game, and I'm not on any "side").

I found it hard to like Oghren in DAO as well. Until he said he was going to drink a whole barrel of pickle juice, because that was my elementary school nickname. I was more amused by him in Awakening, though. Sebastian gives me the heebeegeebees, but that's an entirely personal issue that I try to ignore when I deal with him.

Well sadly Sebastian is like... a shell of a character. I don't even count him in the line-up.

I tend to have the same stance towards fictional characters as well,If I don't find them interesting enough I'm just indifferent.Though it's not uncommon for me to like controversial characters, despite disagreeing with their actions/morality,just because they're well written and fleshed out, even if some of my characters hate them.
I never liked Oghren. He was just so... EWWW all the time, to me. I actually hated him. I tried to get along with him, though. I loved Varric, he was such a night and day difference from Oghren as a companion.
I don't know why, but in Origins it felt like I had to babysit Oghren, and in comparison, in DA2, I felt like Varric was taking care of my Hawke.

I actually had the opposite reaction. Oghren was never one of my favorites (the creepy sexual innuendo and flagrant alcohol abuse were kind of off-putting) but I actually liked him better in Origins when he was mostly just comic relief. In Awakening he seemed to have lost all his previous character development and I didn't find his irresponsible father plotline very emotionally engaging.

Let me guess, you played "constant facepalm" sarcastic!Hawke
Everybody had to take care of that clueless guy/girl!
Your nickname was pickle juice? xD
Yeah!
From second grade all the way to high school, actually. I'd once bragged I could drink a whole jar of pickle juice, and, well, it stuck. I was very proud of that nickname. Still am, and still can drink a whole jar of the stuff.

I did! With a mix of angelic Hawke, lol.
Yeah!

A whole jar of vinegar with salt and dill and cucumber mother?

Oh yes. I love it, which grosses out everyone I know and prompted said nickname.
Yeah!

LOL That's kind of awesome! I bow to thee!

Same here. I hardly ever brought Oghren along, just maxed him out with the help of Feastday gifts and metagaming. I did find some of his party banter amusing, but overall he was a very meh character for me.
So far I don't dislike any of the DAI companions - rumoured or otherwise. The only one I find slightly boring is Cassandra, but that's probably just because of oversaturation. If she's anything like Aveline, I know I will end up loving her.

I found Oghren interesting in DAA because I was stunned he and Felsi had become that serious. So that hooked me right off the bat, and I had to know more.
I understand where Adrian is coming from definitely, and I agree with some of her views but not all. She rubs me the wrong way. Probably because we're both redheads.
You see, when two redheads meet, we have to size each other up - see whom is the dominant red. We sniff hair to see if it's real or dyed, check for freckles, paleness, and finally: rage. The redhead that is angry the longest wins, and is the alpha of the hoard.
Adrian scares the ****** out of me, so she wins and I hate her for it.
Cole also still freaks me out. He deserves sympathy, but I won't be turning my back on him.
Random topic change, but if I don't ask this will bug me so that I can't sleep.
So, I'm planning my canon DAO run, which I will do after I beat Thief, and I've decided that Leliana is going to "die" in relation to Ceyrion tainting the sacred ashes. Do I have to have Leliana in my party while at the ashes to do that, or can I provoke a fight back at camp and get her teamed-up on? I know, I know, I'm a terrible person, but, really, this is the only run where it makes sense for Leliana to "die", and I really want a run where the Warden "kills" her. Thanks muchly.
To make this even a little on topic: if it's possible, will you guys do a run where you kill Cullen? I will, I know it, because I've already done it to Anders and I've got a run planned where Zevran gets his throat slashed from the get-go. It'll kill me inside, but I'd do it anyway.

I doubt it. For choices I'm curious about but don't want to go through with in a playthrough, I usually Youtube it, so I'd probably do so for that.
Yep, I'll definitely play out the death scene for science. Done it with all characters possible so far.
Have to admit, none hurt my feefees as much as Alistair's execution. The amount of no fucks given by anyone was hilariously depressing.
In fact, I hope if companions actually die in DAI - by the inquisitor's hand or not - that someone actually says at least something about it. Or reacts. Or shows emotion.

To my knowledge you definitely need her in your party for that quest. And, you know, don't take Wynne unless you want to fight her too.

This has nothing to do with what you said, but I just saw your avatar and snorted my tea. It stings.

I've seen some videos where Oghren gets murdered in camp, and I always thought it was hilarious how everyone just shuffles back to their own spots as if this happens all the blasted time.
It'd be nice if someone expressed a bit of shock over having to kill someone they'd been fighting beside.

I believe I did mention earlier that I would put some makeup on if Mr. Ellis came through.
I also vehemently recommend watching both of these if you have not already. I also apparently cannot just post the links without the players popping up in the thread itself. Oh well.

The only mention I remember was if Alistair did the ultimate sacrifice, Wynne will remark "the poor boy".
That's all I am recalling at the moment. I don't think Varric even responds to killing Merill or Bethany in the endgame.
