Whoa whoa whoa! Guys, remember, it's kinda his job to do this? Like, sure, maybe Cullen doesn't have 1000+ lines yet, or, maybe, they're doing a lot of rewrites because of how the plots might have changed to accommodate the different races we can play or--

really guys dont make me be the positive one i am terrible at it i like to be the rain on the parade and to poke holes in things

Wow, on the roller coaster.

I'm still hopeful. Gaider didn't say no, he's not a companion. He just corrected on how voicing the lines and hours goes. And besides, Greg said he was doing more VO next week, and he could be doing more after that. So keep your chins up!

Don't worry, I shall always remain positive! There's still plenty of time!

Someone should tweet that picture (and credit source) directly to Greg Ellis. :)

Yeah, he could have said no. He should have said no to be honest if he wasn't a companion.

Thank goodness! Positive is hard. I'm still confident about Cullen's chances, especially if you consider that GE had to delete his tweet. This is damage control.

A} GE was accidentally wrong about being a companion/romance, and now everyone is rushing around to damper expectations before people get upset.

B} GE was accidentally right about being a companion/romance, and now everyone is rushing around to damper expectations because OOPS.

It's all okay, because GE recorded raunchy dialogue.  :)

He's already seen it. When Gala first drew it, she sent it to him, I think maybe on Facebook back then (?). And had to explain who it was.

Extrapolation is a mathematical term, right? My hopes aren't completely dashed...yet. It sounds more like he's just shooting down how many lines Greg's done thus far. Which is no where near 1000+

I am guessing it's marketing that won't let him say yes or no. It's pretty obviously "no" at this point, but I don't blame DG.

Seriously! My highest hope level when I first heard he was in DAI (the last-year deleted tweet) at all was that we might have some Teagan-level flirting, or even Aveline-level rejectable flirting. Anything more than that is icing, for me.

(Major EDIT to a post for like the trillionth time today because I am wiped out from midterms: [a] I don't mean this as gloating over anyone with higher expectations, especially because I still think the size of his role is a totally open question, and [b] "highest hope level" with respect to romance. Obviously I'd rather see some interesting character development, an exciting plot, etc.)

Wow, that's painful. I think that's a pretty definitive NO.

I don't see it that way. We're essentially being told to assume nothing. The amount of time GE has spent in a booth (according to GE) seems a bit much for a minor NPC to have -in my opinion - especially since sessions can vary so much depending on the content of the scenes being done. I tend to think an NPC wouldn't have as much reason for a broad range and therefore wouldn't take as long. I really am convinced that they're still just getting as much as they can into the game and honestly don't know if they'll be able to include everything due to time and/or file constraints, so they caution us not to presume too much. It can set us up for disappointment. And from a marketing stance, it's more titillating to keep fans looking forward to as much as possible. ;)

Keep in mind that he's probably voiced multiple characters, even if the others are minor.

That's a possibility as well, though I don't recall if he has ever voiced multiple characters for Dragon Age on the same game. Anders was in DAA and Cullen in DAO and DA2. But other actors have multi-tasked this way so it's hardly unprecedented or impossible.

Hmm, not for me sadly. I don't like any of the LI prospects except for the Grey Warden, and I think he has no chance of being a romance. I would be more than happy with an NPC romance a la Sam or Steve, even would prefer that to a companion to be honest (because of how I see their relationship going). But a few flirts here and there? Which will probably only be available to female inquisitors, if Teagan and Varric are anything to go by. No, it's not enough for me. I'm back to feeling slightly indifferent about the game. (The feeling will pass though, and I'm sure I'll be curious about it again.)

He did in DA:O but he was just Cullen in DA2.

IMDB lists quite a number of characters for Origins that he's voiced. But mainly Knight-Captain Cullen is mentioned for 2.

I interpreted that as a "no" as well. It's a little bit disappointing if he's not a companion, but if we get a romance it's still good. I will be very disappointed if he's not a romance option, though.

He voiced a couple of minor characters in DA: Origins, like Cesar or the Ash Warrior from Ostagar. GE also did some voice acting already for DA: I in 2012, if they didn't toss it out.

Ooohhh right! I forgot about the Ash warrior! I feel sheepish! I even remember going to him and realizing "Duuuude!! It's CULLEEENNNN!" Forgot about that. Sorry.

Edit: If he did some way back when, it may have been just minor NPC stuff and he's been brought back to expand upon that? Or just working here and there as he's able? So his total session count spans the past year...

Lol, raunchy 5000, I can work with that ;)

Hey Greg! Hope you're enjoying looking around here. If you're able to post.... The forums my explode lol.

I can't accurately begin to express my excitement that he retweeted me AGAIN and is reading page 4000. So far now, here's an all caps WOOP WOOP and expect a colorful collection of vids later today! :D

Oh my gosh, he is EVERYWHERE in Origins! Every time I turn around I'm running into either him or Jowan's VA, it should be a drinking game.

I have to comment on this raunchy dialogue thing.

When Greg Ellis says raunchy, I don't think he means raunchy like ...Dirty sex, or something vulgar. I think he means it's raunchy like it's out of the ordinary for him (for Cullen). It's sexy, it leads to sex, and it's romantic. But not like pull out the whips and chains in the bedchamber.

Oh no, I think he made it pretty clear that he was in the booth recently for Cullen :) I've no doubt about that.
