So I was looking through someones Tumblr and you can use a doll maker to make concept art like that of the "leaked" survey art. I also saw someone on Tumblr who had done there own version of an Orlesian Templar and it was in the same style as Cassandra and that Warden's concept armor pictures. Make me think it's easier than we think to create a fake leak.
Yup, which is why I was so skeptical. I was in the middle of typing up a long post about how somebody with even marginal artistic ability could use design elements from the known concept art to create dupes and got called back to work. Find an image that looks good, stick it on a gradient gray background, paint a little shadow around the feet, and you're set.
The red flags I saw:
-- Cullen's head really, really looks photoshopped.
-- The male with the partizan (trident-like spear) reminds me of something I once saw in an Osprey "Men at War" book.
-- The poses for the known concept art are very similar, but there is no consistency in the others. The known concept art has static poses, but some of the others are action poses and rely on props.
-- The shadows around the feet are wrong. On the two known concept art characters, the shadows are diffuse, pale, and cover a large portion of the "floor". On the others, the shadows are smaller "puddles," darker, and seem to follow the contours of the shape more.
-- WTF with the girl. She looks as if she's holding a palette and a paintbrush. Will we be recruiting artists, now? That ought to help against the templars. "Stop right there or I'll paint your portrait!"
-- Lack of cohesive art style. The two known concept art portraits contain familiar elements (useless cords and fiddly-bits on the armor, massive shoulders, sharp contrasts and clean lines, trim silhouettes). I'm no artist, but the other portraits don't seem to have the same cohesion.
-- Can you imagine the fits the bell-like skirt on Cigarette Girl would give the animators? It would clip with *everything*.
As for the tweets, not sure if it would be Cullen. If the tweeter were the writer, would she describe the acting of her own lines as dreamy?

Anyway, we will find out eventually. The curiosity may kill us, but we'll know in the end.
