I think just limiting the animated gifs would help everyone. TBH, I basically don't click on any spoiler tags anymore because I have no idea what hiding beneath them. Spoilers, pics, NSFW pics. I think they become useless if they're not explained at this point.

I'm not sure we should necessarily limit the amount of gifs. I too use my phone to check up on here, so I understand the longer loading time. The spoiler tags have seem to become a little messy, or make gif posting a lot less noticeable. Gifs are a fun form of emotional expression that help contribute to the culture of different threads. 

 

labeling in large font before the spoiler tag? maybe that'd be a decent alternative? I'm not sure what a good solution would be at this point...

Yeah if people are going to use spoilers they should say what's in the spoiler... good point. If I post a pic, I put it in spoiler; I try to remember to make it obvious that that's what's in the spoiler. And if I ever did post something NSFW, I'd definitely label it.

[BLINKS] Now I'm picturing a scene were a desire demon takes the form of our current Love Interest to try and tempt us. Oh, that could be fun. Non-standard game over FTW! (For those without LI, hmm, perhaps it could be based on DAI's version of the approval bar...)

So, It's almost time to go to bed lol but before I go, I just have a question:

 

In about 7/8 months you will have a copy of DA:I in your hands. Have you any idea how you are going to play it:

 

Are you going to play it alone? Or with friends/boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wifes etc..

Are you going to play it in one big session (like taking a week off from work/school etc..

Will you be focused mainly on the game or are you also visiting the forums and discuss/share certain events?

 

For me:

I'll be playing alone (for my first playthrough I don't want any distractions, or someone telling me: I want to play now etc.. i know I'm weird lol)

It will be a long long session, non stop for a week i guess, and I will not be online I think. Almost certain!

And when i'm done I'll play again but with a different race (I always play as a human male mage for my first playthrough)

I think a good solution would be to chill out on the gif spamming or put it in a spoiler tag and label it. It's just a courtesy to those of us that don't necessarily choose to get bogged down by them or distracted or whatever the reason... just a courtesy.

1) I'll definitely be playing it alone. (I am told I am infuriating to watch play, thus I do not play where other people can see it.)

2) I almost went entirely without sleep while playing ME3, so long, unbroken sessions will be how it goes.

3) I will not be visiting the forums while I play unless something goes drastically awry. Or a bug pops up.

4) When I'm done, I'll probably spend a day or two combing through the guide to metagame the heck out of it.  Then play it again, metagame some more, and then finally go through my "first-draft" canon run with Ashtal.

Yup! I think we discussed that one a while back too. It would be excellent fodder, wouldn't it? And if your LI is around to witness the depths of your pervitude... sooo awkard! Hahaha!

It will definitely always be alone. "Computers are not for gaming!" So says my husband.

As much as I'd like to, I doubt it'll be one long session. RL and issues with sitting at the computer for too long dictate how long I'll play.

I may be rather scarce during my first playthrough, although it may be a fast one. In other words, I tend to zoom through the game to see how it ends and then my second one is a more completionist one.

1. Alone; even if I knew someone IRL who played Dragon Age it's still my "special time" lol

Are you going to play it in one big session (like taking a week off from work/school etc..  Booking 2 days off at release, hopefully finish up on the weekend. WIll try to take it slow, but will end up binge playing and missing sleep. Will also eat too much ice cream and too many chips. It will be worth it.

 

Will you be focused mainly on the game or are you also visiting the forums and discuss/share certain events? I will do all the things. And I will CHEAT. I no longer feel shame over this.

1. I will play it alone and hopefully without distraction. Maybe I can let my kid live free range in the backyard with a bowl of water and some kibble to maximize this idea. lol

2. I'll be lucky if I get the consecutive nights to myself, but it would be ideal.

You know, I was gutted by what DG posted.  It was like dumping cold water over my head.  But I've been thinking about it, and he did kind of focus on the assumptions that were being made (the # of lines, for example) based on VO session information.  It could be that he simply does not want any VO information similarly interpreted for any of the characters.  Perhaps it wasn't specific to GE, but rather a way of steering us away from that type of speculation altogether.  Does that make sense at all?

I've noticed that non-standard fonts look different on my ipad and the like. Mostly though... I just find it annoying. Like when someone talks in all caps, it feels like someone's yelling at me. Sorry. My old grandma tendencies are coming out with all the gifs and spoiler tags and such. Get off my lawn, you blinky gif! Eh, what's that, sonny??? LARGE TEXT???  I can't hear you! /puts down cane to tap hearing aid

1) I'm going to be playing it alone. Over fall I'll be studying abroad in Dublin, so I'm probably going to have to take some time from my studying abroad experience to play the hell out of the game. Also, none of my friends IRL are as in love with Dragon Age/PC games as I am, and they're not going to be in Ireland with me anyway, so alone it is!

2) One big session, probably. I'm not sure if I'll miss school for it but I'm going to binge on it. And probably refrain from tumblr/BSN/anything DA related at all in that time period.

3) Focused on the game, definitely.

I noticed this too. It seemed more like he was trying to stop us from jumping the gun in excitement. He didn't say anything about Cullen's companion status, but instead about the VO thing.

I honestly see it more as damage control and trying to put the brakes on freewheelin' fan mayhem. 

 

As I have said - the dialogue includes the sexy and the raunchy. So if nothing else, we've still go that to look forward too.
