I'm trying to think about how Cullen's romance could go, whether he's a "cuddler" or an "ass-kicker". I think he'll be more ass-kicker than cuddler, really.

So, It's almost time to go to bed lol but before I go, I just have a question:

 

In about 7/8 months you will have a copy of DA:I in your hands. Have you any idea how you are going to play it:

 

Are you going to play it alone? Or with friends/boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wifes etc..

Are you going to play it in one big session (like taking a week off from work/school etc..

Will you be focused mainly on the game or are you also visiting the forums and discuss/share certain events?

 

For me:

I'll be playing alone (for my first playthrough I don't want any distractions, or someone telling me: I want to play now etc.. i know I'm weird lol)

It will be a long long session, non stop for a week i guess, and I will not be online I think. Almost certain!

And when i'm done I'll play again but with a different race (I always play as a human male mage for my first playthrough)

 

And you?...

I have always played alone, so guess this time will be no different. I think I will be taking one or two weeks off from work so I can dedicate my time to the game. (Done the same for DA:2 when it launched... only to have the game arrive in the last weekend before I had to get back to work again... I am still angry at the screwing up postal service company )

 

Not really sure yet what I will pick for first playthrough... still got some time to decide For DA:O it was an elven mage and for DA:2 also a mage... Hmm, keep the tradition or break it... decisions, decisions...

I agree with this. I think he's been hardened from what he was like at the beginning of Origins, though I feel there might be a dose of cuddler in there somewhere

You know something I thought of for the first time during the discussion this afternoon. Given the extra variety of race choice we have for our PC this time 'round... what if they plan on giving us one LI per race? Or more LIs than usual to have a spread of racial LI options? I mean, in practice most players I know will romance anyone with anyone. But, what if they wanted to let you romance a dwarf (Varric) with your dwarf, and a qunari (IB) with your Qunari? Instead of only giving human and elf options this time...

I think he'd be an ass kicker as well as a bit of a cuddler. And - bonus! - he knows how to make a decision and stick to his guns. Whether you agree with him or not, he has a very strong sense of what he believes should be done. That kind of irritated me about Alistair, that he preferred to defer to the Warden and yet complained when a decision he didn't like was made. Until recently I was remembering him with rose colored lenses but youtubing DAO videos was a good refresher. If Cullen is romanceable, I will be happy for that. If Varric is...? I dunno. Can't really see myself playing for him. Or Viv. I don't find hoity-toity snobs and fashionistas all that attractive. I love the idea of the character simply because she'll be unique, but I couldn't romance her. Or IB or beardy GW. Maybe Solas...? Maybe... And until I know what Sera is like, I have no clue. I wanted to romance Morrigan and Aveline as female PC but, alas, that was not to be. So I hope there's someone in the 9 that my PC can be with aside from Cullen. As much as I'd like that, I play many different ways and don't wanna do his arc over and over or nothing at all. There will be PTs I have where he and my Inq will NOT get along. At all. LOL! So I do hope the ratio as it seems now... isn't what it seems to be.

Which is to say that, yes, I’m aware that there are those who have speculated that the Qunari shown in the pictures is a party member— and that there are also some who imagine what a romance with him might be like. Not that I’ve seen any of the discussion, but there will be an element of that with every single character that gets revealed (provided they’re not revolting in some way, I guess). I suppose it also doesn’t hurt that the Qunari is a muscled brute who looks like he could lift you like a feather and bang you two ways from Sunday.

I could see the argument for that, but I think it would be a poor distribution of resources. I think a more likely limiting factor will be our personal stances on the important events happening and the decisions we make, like how Anders would kill the romance if you gave Feynriel to Torpor.

Won't people see that as racism?.. "Stick to your own race": the first thing that comes to mind reading your post.. If it is, then it has probably something to do with programming/design choices?

Okay, well, I was just reading thru that Cullen thread w/the angry fist of Gaider in it. j/k.

 

You knooow, I'm really trying not to get ticked off. We know Cullen is in the game. Is he a follower, or not? And I have No human males in the line up. In fact, tbh, only Varric has been Absolutely confirmed. Even Solas has not been Absolutely confirmed--has he?

 

Where are the men!?! The human men? We got two gorgeous human females, and sum sassy, but cute female elf--prolly, at any rate. But for the men I've got Varric--who is most likely Not LI. A qunari beast--who prolly is not an LI, and the elf guy--who prolly Is LI. Oh, and maybe the male version of Wynne in Beardy--who may not be LI if he's like Wynne's role.

I'm holding out hope for DHMG, I like that he looks like Petyr Baelish from GoT. Also I'd rather Beardy be a LI than Solas tbh. I have nothing against elves and have romanced them before but I'm not here for some bald Nicholas Cage look-alike.
