Doesn't that also mean they might not also know that LI does not always mean companion?
Possibly, but I was just referring to the Tal-Vashoth thing.

oh there will be samesex romances, but I hope one of them is a Cullen one
Oh trust me I want to plau as a male inq as well after my 1st PT with a female and I def want to romance him again with a male as well so Im really hoping he will be available for both genders!!!
I'm trying, thanks!!! I can't believe Sheryl said we'd have to wait until we have the game in hand, though, that's crazy!!
Yea, Im really feeling positive about the whole thing.. also btw didnt DG said in one of the panels at Gaymerx that they like the way the romances were done in DA2 and they were looking to explore more of that? so Im still holding out hope ![]()

That's what I'm thinking.
I'm not saying I think he's not a companion. I actually think he has an excellent shot, especially given the context of being in the first batch of romance reveals. (Even if there are NPC romances, would an NPC romance likely be first and paired with a confirmed companion?) So I'm not actually feeling negative about it at all.
I just consider his companion status not yet confirmed, and until we hear something official I'm going with the thought that the people saying it's confirmed are either misunderstanding or assuming.
Probably because they've been downplaying it and acting like they were gonna reveal nothing. I surely didn't expect any information.
I considered going to PAX but waffled too long about whether I could afford it and the tickets ran out. I didn't expect any info either but I thought going to hear the Bioware folks talk would be fun anyway. ![]()
Oh well, at least I get to live vicariously! ![]()
My face after hearing about Cullen.
Now to catch up on some reading. I can't keep up with this thread!

I think Cullen has a better chance at being a companion now, though I'm just stoked he has a romance. Ah so excited, I have waited for this since my first warden met him in the circle of the magi quest. Was disappointed I couldn't make him a follower lol.
I figured Cass would be a romance option so nothing new there
From sprawling hills to craggy terrain, the Exalted Plains within the Dales are ripe for exploration. http://bit.ly/1jyATxE #DAI
Now I'm wondering if they always planned on revealing Cullen as LI or if GE's tweets kinda made them change their minds. Don't get me wrong I'm stoked that they did, but it's just so sudden. They've been so tight lipped about him and we haven't seen him in anything else other than concept art. If they would have revealed let's say Solas or Varric, I wouldn't have been as surprised.
I vaguely remember on of the devs saying that our romances would play out through our adventure, as in that bond and admiration the characters develop for each other play out through them travelling and fighting together. That alone points me in the high hopes direction of Cullen being a companion. Either way, romances are something that Bioware doesn't do casually (I don't count quick tumbles as romances ala Isabela in Origins) so we should feel confident that we will be seeing enough of Cullen to make us satisfied (hur hur hur
) That they announced his LI status alongside Cass, a confirmed companion, seems like a good sign as well.

I'm guessing they let Greg Ellis reveal it knowing it would give the fans something to chew on for a few days until they made it official. I could be wrong, obviously.

LIKE an i tend to think that maybe GE had something to do with it.. I think they might of thought.. well ok GE already let the cat out of the bag so might as well confirm it

Yeah, that makes sense.
I also think the way the romances are integrated is a good sign for bisexual romance options? If they've put that much effort into making the romances flow naturally, cutting some of them off purely due to gender seems overly arbitrary and like a waste of storytelling effort.

This made me smile so hard. I just keep getting these flashes of yes and joy and... man.
Cullen! As a character of romantic interest! We're gonna be able to talk with him and learn about him and see him smile and

This is how I predict they will explain the love interests in they are NOT player sexual....
1) If Cullen is straight and limited to female inquisitors they will explain that its because he only flirted with the female Amell
in Origins
2) They will say Varric will be restricted to Dwarf Inquisitors because of the height issue and not wanting to use resources and make romance scenes for every race.
3) Qunari will be limited to Qunari Inquisitors because of height issue
I hate to have this nagging suspicion but something tells me that the romances are just not going to be easy to get like they were in DA2
So Xil, how're you doing with all this news? I can't remember if a Cassandra romance was on your horizon or not.
Only if something goes wrong with Sera, in all likelihood. It's theoretically possible but not my current plan. Mostly I'm concerned about redundancy issues with Cassandra and Cullen, but I suppose if Mustachio is Dorian, things might be sort of even...

I highly doubt 2 and 3 are an issue. They could care less about the height thing.

I don't think this is something they'd consider, if only because most players use the Human Male. The Vashoth race might come in second this time around (big burly man with horns!), but I'd bet dwarfs will still come in last. So it would make little sense to market word-rich content towards the least-used race. I think there will be other things to make romance more difficult, but race-specifics is very unlikely.

Folks! I literally saw Ashe's tweet on my way out the door to the dentist! You have no idea how calm I was. haha. I told my husband the news, and then I said, "You need to fully appreciate how much I am not freaking out right now." He laughed, the turd.
The dentist was all, "You seem very happy to be at the dentist." I was all, "Oh, yeah. Got some good news before I left." all nonchalant. *snort*
Now that I am home, though, I AM FREAKING OUT. WOOO!!! *dances around the house* *shakes her booty* *dances some more*
Yesterday, I really believed this ship had sailed. I have never been so glad to be wrong. *does a terrible jig*
