Folks! I literally saw Ashe's tweet on my way out the door to the dentist! You have no idea how calm I was. haha. I told my husband the news, and then I said, "You need to fully appreciate how much I am not freaking out right now." He laughed, the turd. 
 
The dentist was all, "You seem very happy to be at the dentist." I was all, "Oh, yeah. Got some good news before I left." all nonchalant. *snort*
 
Now that I am home, though, I AM FREAKING OUT.  WOOO!!! *dances around the house* *shakes her booty* *dances some more*
 
Yesterday, I really believed this ship had sailed. I have never been so glad to be wrong. *does a terrible jig*

For the record, I think you are right.

 

I think if the romances are limited, it's going to be based on factors other than gender. (For example, I can picture Cullen with a man but not with a female blood mage.) I think it'll be based on our characters' choices and the LI's moral standards, not on the type of reproductive organs the PC has.

This is how I predict they will explain the love interests in they are NOT player sexual....
 
1) If Cullen is straight and limited to female inquisitors they will explain that its because he only flirted with the female Amell
in Origins
 
2) They will say Varric will be restricted to Dwarf Inquisitors because of the height issue and not wanting to use resources and make romance scenes for every race.
 
3) Qunari will be limited to Qunari Inquisitors because of height issue
 
I hate to have this nagging suspicion but something tells me that the romances are just not going to be easy to get like they were in DA2

I see your reasoning here, but ME at least gives us arguments against those being issues:

1. Kaidan never flirts with BroShep in ME1 (um... I THINK?) and that didn't stop them making him available to both genders in ME3. (And people would try to scream that Anders HAD TO BE STRAIGHT in DA:A because he only talked about women *eyeroll* so that's another example based purely on player perception)

2 & 3. In ME alien romances - outside of Liara, because Asari models work just like human ones - had no or, well, awkward seeming cutscenes. But that didn't truly bother a lot of people who 'manced aliens (like me with Garrus) -- frankly I was relieved they didn't attempt it, lol.

So, just sayin'.... THERE IS HOPE.
