When Anders was revealed in DA2 his DA:A thread didn't get closed down, so I doubt this one would get shut down if a DAI thread was opened.

Honestly, this seems like something to ask a mod or Jessica. It's not asking for spoilers, just what the correct protocol is.

Have a feeling they will close them the same way they did with ME3 ones if it gets too nasty. Best to wait it out.

I can't see them making him a LI for some reason. To me him and Beardy Warden are both at about 15% chance.

Sera definitely, (Unfortunately for me and my hopes of a Vivienne romance) but Solas is more shaky. All the other males seem possible to me, especially Varric, (though I'd hope for IB).

As for how many romances I'd want, I'd want 6. Obviously, that reduces Cullen's chances for many of this thread, but if we're being selfish, yeah I'd definitely choose 6. Not only would Vivienne be romanceable, it would probably mean bisexuals are better represented, which is pretty rare I find. We've only really had Leliana who was out and proud bisexual who also wasn't promiscuous.

For the record, I think you are right.

 

I think if the romances are limited, it's going to be based on factors other than gender. (For example, I can picture Cullen with a man but not with a female blood mage.) I think it'll be based on our characters' choices and the LI's moral standards, not on the type of reproductive organs the PC has.

 

It could very well be that way. I romanced  both  male and female Hawkes with Anders and Fenris.  I just don't think its going to be easy like it was for DA2 and I think they are going to do restrictions. I think people should wait before they get too excited because the disappointment is going to end up feeling worse.  

 

My brother wants a Cortez-like companion but he is not holding out hope.

Naw, I don't think they'll move it. We'll have to make a new one and reserve this one as our haven. It remains to be seen if the devs will create "official" companion threads this time or not, depending on his status.

I dunno what we should do. I don't want to just go start one... and be told it's a duplicate of the other four Cullen threads in the Character subforum. ANd get closed. Again. The pain from that when they opened the DAI forums is still too fresh.
