Hm, that Varric thing she typed up is intriguing. Made it seem like he could be a romance option, but also not, LOL! Either way, a hate filled forbidden relationship sounds right up Cullen's street, LOL!

 

That he was grouped in there when talking about the types of romances there are def had me raising an eyebrow

Yeah doubting that too. If IB is a companion, he's definitely a warrior.

I wondered the same thing about Varric! I know she typed that entry up in haste so as to get the info out STAT, but I wish she'd taken her time putting it together so it's a little more coherent!

Don’t worry, guys: you don’t need to romance in Inquisition. Just consider it an option. That being said… Cassandra Pentaghast and Cullen are two confirmed romances for Inquisition. More to be announced in the future."

Technically you could do this in DA:O, but there wasn't any skill tree for it I don't think.

She means "not one and the same". There will be different "flavors", for lack of a better term.

I dunno. "Two hander" just means two handed sword to me. Sounds pretty warrior-ish. 

 

On romance. Still baffled. When I read about Varric... it sounded like I would just get to be friends with him again, and boom: that's the Varric romance.

But Beardface could always be a rogue. I know we saw him with a shield, but this could have been changed.

Warrior: Cullen, Cass, GW

Rogue: Sera, Varric, Unknown female

Mage: Solas, Viv, Dorian

I'm not entirely sure if she's talking about the relationships in general in DA2 as an example, or if she's referring to DAI. I'll ask her later.

So, remember that old, old interview from LiveJournal with DG, where he seemed to express surprise that fans were interested in Cullen? 

 

And then, wasn't Cullen a last minute replacement, as in, they were going to create a new character for that role? EDIT: in DA2

 

Nevertheless, I wonder how long they've been intending to use him in DA:I.

 

Not that I'd be so arrogant as to say our ideas are just so cool the devs used them, but I just... wonder if he would have remained the ranting, raving man in a pink cage of woe if we hadn't expressed an interest in his potential and so they looked at him again when previously he hadn't been a blip on the radar. Kind of like a double-take, you know? Like, "Whoa, wait-a-minute... what's this?" when he was a non-entity before. Then again, they probably always wanted/intended for a character to be a familiar theme throughout the games - who knows? Certainly not I.

I don't get "The Iron Bull #TwoHander ... there's no context. What does that even mean? Was that announced? Someone asked that question? That would sort of be confirming him as a character.

 

I can't wait until she's able to clear these things up! I feel sorry for all the tweets and reblogs that are probably headed her way though.

I suppose it's always possible for the IB to wield a greatsword but have rogue like abilities. I mean, the dude is huge, I can't see him swinging around little teeny tiny daggers. If it's anything like Origins, it was possible to have a warrior dual wielder/archer. Maybe the IB is just special like that. I don't know how companion classes are going to work exactly.

 

Or Cullen isn't a companion. Either works.

God, this whole week has been so up and down with Cullen's companion status.

 

It was like, Greg Ellis tweet -- omg he's definitely a companion, look at how many sessions he's recorded!

 

Then DG said, "Nope, some companions have done as many as 20 sessions" and it was like, well, damn.

 

Then he gets confirmed as romance and it's YAY CULLEN

 

and now it's Oh god it's even classes how could Cullen fit there if he's a warrior?!?!
