Maybe they thought it was implied? Remember this is just coming from word of mouth, they very well could have said companion somewhere in there, and LadyInsanity just neglected to mention that bit. She seems to be writing things on the fly, so can't blame the girl for missing a detail here or there.
She said that they didn't say what his companion status was.

If you have questions, she's answering them on this PAX East topic in the main boards.

Naw, they didn't mention if he was a companion, I asked her lol.
Maybe what you know is outdated. You should just tell us and then we can help you sort out the discrepancies.
LOL Nice try ![]()

Legitimately, I'm genuinely confused! I mean, I don't know ALL the things, but of the stuff I do know some of this new info doesn't quite add up... so now I dunno what's correct and what isn't.
Could it be that they changed stuff up after they put you under NDA since the time and budget they had were expanded?
Edit: Nevermind. ninja'd by eluvianx I see.
I think IB has been confirmed as a Two Handed Warrior. Whether, or not, he's a Follower---remains to be seen.
Cullen could very well go "rogue". Figuratively, and literally. That's what Keran did in DA2 when he could not deal w/Meredith anymore. He wore the rogue skimpy leathers and everything.
GW being a Follower remains to be seen, as well.
And Gaider did suggest that we don't know who is actually going to be a warrior from that one tweet response abt warriors and cullen.
He could be in the same role as that chick in ME3...what was her name? Traynor? She was a LI but wasn't a companion. I could see him in a major role with our Inquisition..like an adviser. I think he's a companion though.

Yeah. Personally -- being in the optimistic boat like always -- we can't make assumptions that the warrior class is filled because we honestly don't know if IB/GW are companions. There are rumors and IB is in concept art and GW is in concept art and one part of a GI video, but we don't have any confirmation. Things chance. We'll see.
Ugh I hate waiting though

Ha, you scamp, you!
Well sh*t, nvm then! I'm still pretty convinced he's a companion. If he's not, well then at least I can still find comfort in romancing the beard off him ![]()
@Lola, I'm assuming it's the 3/3/3 thing you're confused about?
I'm confused about everything, LOL! I think I need to see the recording for myself to make sense of it properly.
Holy sh!t, of course when I go to work all hell opens and news starts pouring out, lol. Still catching up but Cullen (and Cassandra, yay) is a romance option. I know I was optimistic but I was never expecting them to announce sth like this so early. I am fighting with myself not to use caps, cause no one is using them anymore!!! So excited! ![]()
I need to catch up on this conversation. First I need to cut some grass. I'll be back in a bit.

But when you do, you will honest and for truly state whether or not you're no longer or still confused afterwards, right? Swear on Cullen!
Lol, I think I'll probably remain confused until the devs clarify a few things via Twitter or whatever. That being said I'm pretty tired and still trying to process all the info.

To be honest, I think Cullen has a build that could translate to a rogue. He's always portrayed as a warrior but since he went from great sword to S & S, we can't say we're certain what his fighting set will be in DA:I. Being able to wield a sword and blade makes it less of a stretch to see him dual wielding, I think. All of my rogues could dual wield and frequently changed it up between twin daggers, twin swords, sword & dagger and sword & shield. So... Cullen could surprise yet again.
Oh, ok he's not confirmed as companion, hmm. Puzzling.
