Where do all these leaks keep coming from? Is Bioware really so careless (or they really wanna see our reactions) or are people just terribly bored?

Either people are terribly bored or they're planning on announcing it soon.

...I'm hoping for the latter. Ha.

As am I, though, it seems rather rushed.

Heh. DA2 was rushed and it was by far my favorite.  Don't hate. lol.

It's just weird that this is all happening at the same time. Greg Ellis's tweet, the supposed survey, and now a graphic designer putting the video game project on his linkedin profile...? All within about a week of each other. It's strange.

Yeah it was a bit odd. Still, the one thing we can be sure of is that Cullen is in DA3 in some capacity. As for the rest, I guess time will tell.

I'm inclined to say that I like the premise of DA2 much more than DA:O, but DA:O has Alistair. The first time around in DA2 I romanced Anders, and since then I've romanced Isabela and Fenris, but Alistair still takes the cake in my opinion.

I was also peeved when Cullen wasn't a romance option in DA2 and he was so much more attractive than all the male companions. What the hell, Bioware.

But yeah, I like DA2. I like the mage/templar conflict, the Qunari conflict... It could use less recycled environments and areas besides Kirkwall, but I like it a lot.

It's something. I saw the picture on linkden. I kind of like it. Did you like the name leakygate? heh. The silence of the devs proves more and more every day there's something to it. Every day I believe it more. lol.

Not for nothing, but the devs are still at Gamescon. The silenece of the devs proves more and more every day that they have nothing to fear from the rumors.

Letting fans speculate isn't going to hurt them any if the rumors are untrue. It gets people talking about the game, it stirs up excitement, and it saves them the trouble of orchestrating previews to generate interest. Everybody wins!

It's only when the "leaks" get close to the mark that they jump in to shut down the rumor mill. Do it too soon and too often when it isn't an emergency and the truth will come out by process of elimination, if nothing else.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but it does have logic in its favor.

Yep, true. And having even a cameo of Cullen is better than no Cullen at all.

Although I would be really, really pissed at the people who faked the concept art for him as a companion if he ends up not being one. That got my hopes waaaay too high.

Me too, although I'm still not keen on that fruity little furry scarf he's wearing in the concept art, that'll be the first thing to go when I change up his armor lol.

Yeah that sounds about right.

I dunno why people keep saying that the leaked photos that were put in the articles have been taken down, because they haven't, I've found several articles with all the pictures posted up.

I think they say that so they feel they have some proof that the photos are legit or something.

I think Galaxy next door was the first to report on it, and they had links up and it got taken down. Also, some of the images from the original thread -- the very first one -- had a lot of images taken down as well.

Not all of the devs are at gamescon though, for instance...where has Alan Schumacher been? He's on this board way more than I am, and he's been silent for days. I'm not theorizing anything specific, just pointing out it has been quiet in the way of devs on the board. Doesn't mean they are all hiding from the leakygate but it's worth considering. :)

See, I really can't decide if this leak is real or not. Some of it seems a little fishy and I start to think that it's more than likely fake, but then something else comes out or a tweet will occur that kinda suggests some of things we've seen in the leak and I feel like it could actually be legit.

They stated in their second article that they were kindly asked to take them down and they were careful to mention they did not post any images in their second article so they felt like that one would not be taken down. Looks to me it was the images that were requested to be taken down not the information itself.

Which images did they have up originally? Just the girl in the blue and gold dress and the dude with the trident?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but the images had the information on them -- like the highlighting plot image. Not that taking that down makes it legitimate though.

Do you think the leak is real and they won't take it down because they know if they did that we would know it was legit?

I don't know. What did they do with the huge ME3 leak? The only thing I remember is them saying not to read it if you want to get the full ME3 experience.

It's a possibility. The ME3 script leak stayed floating around and they didn't do much about it or try to dismiss the leak as a fake.

Exactly, with the DA3 leaks, so far it's just a bunch of descriptions and concept art, no real need to for them to say anything about it because it doesn't really ruin the story in the same way that a script leak would.

Yeah I don't know. I don't have the second article in front of me anymore, but I'm thinking they didn't even paraphrase- but I don't think they had anything except the overview- I don't remember them discussing companions or specs or anything. I could be wrong. So maybe the overviews are okay, but no linking to the images of the overviews or the companions? Or maybe they just can't talk about companions? I really don't know at this point.

Here's a new question based on the survey leak (lets pretend hypothetically for a moment that it's real.)

So, we're playing the game as the new protagonist/"The Inquisitor" and we're about to meet Cullen for the first time. At what point in the game would you want him to show up (for example: prior to you becoming The Inquisitor, during the scene/quest at the peace gathering where sh!t hits the fan, later on in the game when you're in the throws of adventure etc.) How would you like him to appear? (for example: saving you from a near fatal accident, saving him from lyrium withdrawal etc.)

I think it would be kinda fun to first encounter him prior to the peace gathering. Perhaps the protagonist and her friend are in the area doing a bit of pick pocketing and swindling. She sees an opening and zig zags her way through crowd stealing coin purses as she goes, however, she makes the mistake of pick pocketing Cullen, who catches her in the act/or senses her if the protagonist is a Mage. He spins around (which is when we discover that it's Cullen) and looks her dead in the eye (perhaps with a possible look that lasts a little longer than it should), grabbing her by the arm he takes the stolen coin purses from her, telling her that he's not letting go of her arm until after the peace gathering has finished and plans to deal with her after (the temp companion notices you get caught and runs off.) The Divine (or whoever) begins his/her speech and Cullen keeps an eye on our protagonist, glancing down every now and then to check that she isn't trying any funny business.

All of a sudden the magical blast happens, catapulting everyone including Cullen and the protagonist through the air. The protagonist wakes up amongst the rubble and debris. Shaking off her concussion she gets up, this is her chance to get the hell out of there and find her friend...  but looking over she notices Cullen losing consciousness as he reaches out to you for help as you realise he is half trapped under the debris. She pulls him from the rubble and helps him up. He thanks her as they look around and realise the full extent of the seriousness of the situation. Suddenly your friend/temp companion stumbles over and explains what's happened. Cullen panics worried for the Divine/important persons safety (who he had originally intended to speak with after the peace gathering.) Cullen asks you to go with him to help him find the Divine/important person and rescue other injured victims. Then at some point your temp companion gets killed, you eventually reach the Divine/important person and do something epic that seals your fate as "The Inquisitor" and Cullen joins you on your adventure.

So it would be a similar story to how Duncan got caught pick pocketing the Grey Warden recruiter in his younger years. But more importantly, once you're romancing Cullen (when he finally admits that he likes you) you could say something to him like "I'm glad I made the mistake of pick pocketing you back in Orlais" or he'd say "If you hadn't tried to pick pocket me then I never would have met you." - or something equally light hearted lol.

(Perhaps you could decide whether you want to pull him from the rubble or not, if you don't then you encounter him later and he maybe still joins you, but later he finds out you left him for dead and he'll leave the party or something.)

Your turn ladies!

Well , since he may be our templar companion ...and i have a lot of question of where the templars stand in DA3 ( some of them broke away from the chantry)...
I guess I would like to meet him in a situation that shared light on the matter.
Is he still part of the chantry and send by them ( if we have cassandre this role is already taken)?
Is he part of those who break away ...so probably fighting mage...we could probably rescue him from a maleficar ..while his comrade died or something.or maybe something else

Did he left everything behind and went lone templar? And we find him in the middle of the wood ...

Since i'm not an official Cullen fangirl ( it may happen with DA3 , we'll see)...I don't really care about having a scene that would seal a connection for a later romance.
I'm way more interested in the lore the character has to offer.

Yeah, the scene I suggested wouldn't be to seal the romance or anything. It would be solely to introduce Cullen to the protagonist. But if you did decide to romance him then he would make a comment refering to when they first met.

I hope i haven't offended you or sounded cold , Lolalei.

Your scene is really sweet , what i was trying to say is i think it's a good scene for a potential LI.
Because it can hint that you pc and Cullen may have notices each other from the beginning.

The things is for now , I'm in no Li mood ( it will happen ...) I'm in "i want to know what happens to Thedas " mood (less fun).
