Here's a new question based on the survey leak (lets pretend hypothetically for a moment that it's real.)
So, we're playing the game as the new protagonist/"The Inquisitor" and we're about to meet Cullen for the first time. At what point in the game would you want him to show up (for example: prior to you becoming The Inquisitor, during the scene/quest at the peace gathering where sh!t hits the fan, later on in the game when you're in the throws of adventure etc.) How would you like him to appear? (for example: saving you from a near fatal accident, saving him from lyrium withdrawal etc.)
I think it would be kinda fun to first encounter him prior to the peace gathering. Perhaps the protagonist and her friend are in the area doing a bit of pick pocketing and swindling. She sees an opening and zig zags her way through crowd stealing coin purses as she goes, however, she makes the mistake of pick pocketing Cullen, who catches her in the act/or senses her if the protagonist is a Mage. He spins around (which is when we discover that it's Cullen) and looks her dead in the eye (perhaps with a possible look that lasts a little longer than it should), grabbing her by the arm he takes the stolen coin purses from her, telling her that he's not letting go of her arm until after the peace gathering has finished and plans to deal with her after (the temp companion notices you get caught and runs off.) The Divine (or whoever) begins his/her speech and Cullen keeps an eye on our protagonist, glancing down every now and then to check that she isn't trying any funny business.
All of a sudden the magical blast happens, catapulting everyone including Cullen and the protagonist through the air. The protagonist wakes up amongst the rubble and debris. Shaking off her concussion she gets up, this is her chance to get the hell out of there and find her friend... but looking over she notices Cullen losing consciousness as he reaches out to you for help as you realise he is half trapped under the debris. She pulls him from the rubble and helps him up. He thanks her as they look around and realise the full extent of the seriousness of the situation. Suddenly your friend/temp companion stumbles over and explains what's happened. Cullen panics worried for the Divine/important persons safety (who he had originally intended to speak with after the peace gathering.) Cullen asks you to go with him to help him find the Divine/important person and rescue other injured victims. Then at some point your temp companion gets killed, you eventually reach the Divine/important person and do something epic that seals your fate as "The Inquisitor" and Cullen joins you on your adventure.
So it would be a similar story to how Duncan got caught pick pocketing the Grey Warden recruiter in his younger years. But more importantly, once you're romancing Cullen (when he finally admits that he likes you) you could say something to him like "I'm glad I made the mistake of pick pocketing you back in Orlais" or he'd say "If you hadn't tried to pick pocket me then I never would have met you." - or something equally light hearted lol.
(Perhaps you could decide whether you want to pull him from the rubble or not, if you don't then you encounter him later and he maybe still joins you, but later he finds out you left him for dead and he'll leave the party or something.)
Your turn ladies!
