Yeah, but they didn't stay hanging out together after the Blight was over, especially since they didn't get on. What I meant was that they've probably encountered each other a lot over the years since they're both based in Orlais, much to Morrigan's disdain, no doubt.

1. I am once again all @.@ now about wether Cullen is a companion or not. I just find it odd that they'd suddenly decide to throw in Non-companion LIs a la ME... but that may just be wishful thinking.

2. About the terminology used for romances in DAI: I wonder if they mean that they'll be different from DA2 in that there won't be multiple ways to pursue one LI? Like in DA2 how they had both rival-mances and friend-mances, right? Perhaps in DAI there will only be one path to approach with any given LI as opposed to two variations on the theme for each. And it depends on what each LI prefers themselves on wether you can achieve a romance: Wether they are attracted to Humor, Ideals, Tension, etc. Just a thought I had!

Since Cassandra is a full-blown companion and confirmed li, I think it's only fair that Cullen is also both, companion and li. They probably won't reveal anymore romances for a while so I support symmetric distribution

So the one day in the last couple of weeks that i'm not haunting this thread all day...and THAT happened.

 

I'm still playing catch up but wanted to say that i'm incredibly happy for everyone that has wanted this since DA:O and DA2. I'm finding it pretty hard to believe actually, i'd convinced myself that we wouldn't get what we were hoping for....

I'm loving that they confirmed Cullen as a LI, but I just don't get why they confirmed him instead of, like... well, actually, we don't have any other people unless Varric/Viv are. But still? The timing is weird. Unless it was just earlier than they wanted to because of the Greg Ellis stuff?

Regardless, with how the class weapon seems to work (it seems to be the same as DA2), I doubt the Warden is a rogue, unless they changed his weapons.

Maybe GE said more than he was supposed to the other day when he revealed that Cullen in DAI? So they decided to just reveal Cullen as an LI since GE already made it obviously with that Raunchy/sexy dialogue tweet.

Are we really going to start second-guessing everything lola says? She never tabled any specific notion regarding Cullen and just cautioned not getting too carried away. And some of the things she was NDA'd for didn't turn out the way she knew either. So really, her speculations are still just as much a shot in the dark as the rest of us and if she had deliberately steered away from making certain statements, it was because she could get into trouble for seeming to spill secrets. Something she could also do by saying nothing.

 

No lawyer could pin anything on her if she said nothing at all to anyone here. Cautioning a bit of reason and calm isn't about steering anyone away from their ideas (because ZOMG you're getting too close to the truth!). She has no reason to do that. Cautioning calm and reason is more about keeping this thread from devolving into a squealfest, ad nauseum that fans can't enjoy discussion in. Mods don't bother with us much so we kind of police ourselves. That's all it's about. R2 also cautioned reason and calm and she isn't NDA'd (I think). So have others. I think it's just because we know Lola was NDA'd that anyone is giving her the side-eye now so I vote we just forget about the NDA and move on.

My likes are gone, so LIKE! And, FWIW, no, I'm not nearly important enough to be NDA'd.   I'm as gobsmacked as everyone. BUT I'm still going to dance the dance of "I knew I was right" when he ends up being a romanceable non-follower. 

 

Overall, tho, I think some caution in general here is good. And, Potato Cat's ribbing of Lola is all in good fun, so let's not devolve into bitterness.

I wonder if Cullen is the next companion feature in follower Friday.  What with this shock reveal and them saying its going to be someone new, as opposed to being Varric or Cassandra.

Maybe they are just waiting for that to go out before confirming it.
