I think that's a good point too. That's why you keep it here and it can always be a haven you come back to. You don't know who you're going to run into on the new forum. Could bring a lot of good new users or bad.

It was "confirmed" by a magazine, but the same article also included some pretty significant incorrect information so the whole thing is somewhat suspect. I don't consider anyone confirmed till we hear it from Bioware.

Yes, I remember one of the magazines got information about game locations blatantly wrong. Go-go fact checking! :eyeroll:

What strikes me as odd is that the panel would confirm Cullen as an LI without making any kind of addendum or clarification if he's an LI but not a companion... if only because it's not something this IP has done before. You'd think they'd take into account that fans present at PAX may not be as a heavily exposed to speculation/news/leaks as we forums goers (a small percentage of game players over all, I believe) and prone to naturally equate LI = Companion, as has been the case for the past two games.

Perhaps that's purely wishful thinking on my part! But you'd think something like a new style of romance would be a confirmation they'd hold of on until they could confirm/discuss it in its entirety, not just revealing a name without proper context.

I think BW goes w/the idea that this female char. is a woman that knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Which is awesome. But... I hope the romances grow more so than jump in.

I really liked the Alistair romance--among many reasons--for the illusion of growth it provided. There were lil flirts scattered abt in the dialogue. Fun lil things, but the romance was def paced out.

 

I think they're using a sim approach this time.

I expected multiple threads of gnashing teeth claiming that BW is dooming itself for these choices forever and they'll boycott the game or something.

I'm an indecisive libra, as well. I don't want to post on two threads and keep up with both. It's hard enough keeping up with this one because I only have my iPhone to use. So, no matter what I guess I'll just stay exclusive to this thread.

So here is an odd question. I dare not venture much outside of this thread. But I wonder, how many complaint threads have been created to squawk about Cullen's confirmed LI position and to complain about the possibility of him being a companion.

After the whole magazine thing. Everybody was all happy. Then it was godawfully wrong on so many things. Then Ellis tweets those tweets. And everybody was all happy. Then they came in and tried to rein things in a bit.

 

Then--what, the next day was it?--Bam! Cullen is LI, B!tches! That's right. You heard me!"

I think they did from what I heard there was some backlash when people found out Aveline couldn't be romanced. I'm not 100% though, I wasn't around here back then.

With DA2 we knew them all. Not necessarily personalities. Sebastian was the last one, just a couple weeks before launch.
