either way, i think the romance w/ Cullen will prolly be pretty damn good. It doesn't Seem like the DA team is half-stepping w/this game. It seems like they're really trying to bring it home.

 

it is interesting to me that Cullen was announced alongside Cass. Cuz you know how BW loves their juggernaut romances. I figure Cass for a juggernaut romance arc.

 

Sooo, either Cullen was presented to balance the juggernaut out? Or, these are 2 of the juggernaut romances?

 

This is kinda a big deal. They just announced 2 LI's at PAX! And a possible new companion in Cullen.

 

Would they do this for the unveiling of a major npc? At Pax?

Man I don't know!!! I keep going back to what DG said about the romance budget not being expanded. It's the same as always. Same amount of dialog, etc. So if the LIs went from 4 to 6, that means less dialog for each romance. And I don't see that happening. I don't see the writing team cutting the romances. The only exception would be if they were given a bigger budget, and that info just hasn't been released.

 

And no I don't see or understand how or why they'd announce a major NPC at PAX alongside a major companion. But note that it's Cass and Cullen... Cass, whom everyone and their mama knew would be a LI (because of the "DG wrote two LIs thing"). And then there was GE's "raunchy" tweets. 

 

Maybe it was damage control.

It's from Bioware directly. They had a panel at PAX.

I think the romances are the same as DA2, playersexual and around four LIs. If they were following how ME3 did romances with non-followers, it would be hella short and unsatisfying in some cases. Not to mention too many from ME2.

 

They wouldn't have the budget for extra romances.

Correct. Companion status was not revealed one way or the other. LI status is definitely confirmed.
