Ugh, I wish I was there. As wonderful as the LI confirmed Cullen is, it sounds like they said a LOT of interesting stuff in general and I wish I was there to hear it all.
They filmed it. It'll probably be available soonish.

Right that's it, I am pulling myself together and exerting my last vestige of self control. I'm going to bed and watching telly and I'm NOT checking the boards anymore tonight! Not even really quickly, just once to see if anyone's taken pity on us and confirmed anything. I am a mature and responsible person who will not give in to companion status obsession anymore!

This pleases me greatly. Greatly.
I would personally prefer to wait until the devs open up a companion/character subform (like the did for DA2) and then ask the devs to make us a brand new official Cullen thread.
My reasons for this is simply because now that he's been confirmed as romanceable this place is gonna get over run with new people, and once that game ships it's gonna be back-to-back balls-to-the-wall squeeing constantly for at least a year before things start to calm down. This means trying to have a proper conversation about the things Cullen does in the game is gonna be difficult and near impossible for the most part. So, if we keep this thread where it is in the DA2 forums and get a new one made everyone can squee in the new one, AND return to this one for proper conversations should we need to.
Also, call me a sentimentalist, but this thread is something special. It's rare for a minor npc to get such a following and this thread represents that. As such, I'd prefer to leave it here in the DA2 forums as a constant reminder and little piece of history showing how one tiny little 32 page thread for a minor character became the biggest baddest mo-fo in the entire forum. But if we move it, then we lose that.
To summarise, I say we should start afresh BUT wait until they open the subforums and get a dev to open a new official Cullen thread for us, like they've done in the past with old-companions/characters.
Cullen's finally important now, let's do this properly.

I think everyone should listen to this when reading Lola's post.
If anyone wants to, for the new thread, I can make that master list of "Why I like Cullen and want him in DAI" posts.
All that needs to happen is someone starts a post with (spoiler tag it if you want to) their reason why and just have it go from there like a train.
The question gets asked a lot and I imagine it is going to escalate from this point on. Then I can just make a giant spoiler tagged post of everyone's responses and save the link to the post. Easy.
Sorry Batteries, I saw this... and I realize that I don't quite understand what you're suggesting. Are you talking about the Cullen FAQ or somethiing new about why we like him? Do you mean create this in the new thread? Or create a stand alone thread?
I love how everyone in the Cullen thread just crashed lol! Too much excitement; birthdays, Dentist appointments, followed by GE on twitter, windows 8, Lola knowing all along, pessimism dispersed and I gotta say team hopeful/dangerously optimistic did a pretty fantastic job of keeping in the "We CALLED IT! YES!" Comments to a minimum. (Oh, by the way -We called it, oh yes.
) AND OF COURSE the occasional icon change lol!
Good show Cullenites! You've earned your ability to sleep like sweet kittens. Sweet kittens that have inappropriate dreams about a hot templar.
How is it my Likes haven't reset??? Like!

Spoiler
This thread keeps hitting me right in the feels, and I'm here less than a year!
I'm totally thrilled Cullen is a confirmed LI and everything, but if he's not a companion as well his arse will have to wait until after the first playthrough. I love him, but I want my first Inquisitor to be knee deep in battle with the LI, just so I can take them EVERYWHERE and see what they react to. ![]()
Now that he's a confirmed LI, though. I'm confident he'll be a companion. ![]()

At last count, leave the thread here is ahead by a landslide. I think the only questions remaining are:
1. Will they create character subforums?
2. Do we want control over the OP or not? If a dev creates I suppose we could still reserve posts #2 - #5 for fan stuff.
1. Create a new thread in main forums, keep old thread here.

4. adela (thinking of going with #1?)
3. Do nothing, stay here.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel as well. I'd really, really prefer him to be a companion. I mean, I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but like you say there's a very special feeling when adventuring with your LI.I'm totally thrilled Cullen is a confirmed LI and everything, but if he's not a companion as well his arse will have to wait until after the first playthrough. I think Lola means follower subforums. Like they did with DA2 originally. Unclear whether there will be more organization or not.

Oooh.
I don't think there will be? Looking at how the forums are organised now, there's no Follower subforums anymore. Story, Campaign & Characters seems to be a catch all.
Not that it really matters now, but I also voted for #1.
Gotcha!

I second that!I'm excited with the news and everything because after all we'd get to know him better in a sense, whether he's a npc or not...But companions always have more interaction with the pc,plus the banter and the adventuring.
About the Cullen romance announcement:
We don’t know yet if he’s romancable for Female/Male or Both. Considering the fact that he showed interest in a female mage in Origins, you can make the assumption he’s at least a LI for a female.
Now why hasn’t Bioware said anything about him being an interest for all genders?
It’s a possibility that the reason has something to do with not letting the audience know yet how romances will be implemented. You have the Origins way (gender specific romance) and you have DA2 (all gender options available). These games are our reference, but knowing Bioware/game development in general, they want to improve this mechanic (what worked, what didn’t etc.). So we have no idea how romances will be in Inquisition.
Hearing about the Cullen news yesterday I now feel kind of ambivalent. So all you guys and gals who will play a female, you can look forward to him as a love interest (again, based on Origins and the huge female following this character has;-)). But from my point of view, I have to wait and see (I only play males in my playthroughes) and it feels a bit bittersweet at the moment. I am happy, but I still have some caution if you know what I mean.
Time will tell! Btw, if he isn’t available for males, I’ll deal with it/get over it.. eventually hahaha
(just to put things into perspective)

I thought they might just be waiting until they announce more companions?
How did you come up with 6? I read that in other threads on the BSN also. Why not three? Or five?

I know, it is disappointing that they haven't made that clear yet.

I'm just looking at the other forum sub-sections? There's no 'Follower' section for any of the other games anymore. It does seem a bit redundant, I suppose? And it would be a sub-forum with, what, only nine threads? Seeing all discussion about the followers could be taken to their character thread.
How did you come up with 6? I read that in other threads on the BSN also. Why not three? Or five?
Because they like to keep it balanced. Which is why 2 straight and 2 bi is bad. Straight people get two LIs, gay people get one.
But is the number something the BSN concluded to be fair or has Bioware mentioned/talked about that?
