I think it's better to stop dwelling on that, guys. Really, you will just ruin your day thinking about it.

Cullen hate is kind of funny, though. Poor man has been just a minor NPC with a few lines. What did he do to make people hate him so much?

People are doing themselves a disservice with this hate, because if they start DA:I with a prejudice against Cullen, based on their speculations, they may miss the opportunity to get to know an interesting character better. Because Cullen should be really interesting, we talked about this before. 

Ha, of course, my love for this character may do me disservice as well (like it was with Anders), so I'm trying really hard not to assume too much before I play the game. Which is really hard    But I'm trying.

Indeed... I felt horrible when I heard about all the crap Hepler had to deal with... I don't like combat either, and is one of the reasons I have not liked ME (no auto-fights, but I have to actively aim and shoot at things...). Why would it be an issue if someone admits that he or she likes some aspects more or less? The mentality 'you are different than me, so you suck!' is seriously pissing me off... I have 'weird' hobbies too, and I feel seriously sad that I cannot be open about them everywhere because people will act upon that. Heck, this is the ONLY place where I have been showing off my templar costume... I haven't even shown it to my friends on facebook.

I am glad that in here people are mature enough to acknowledge that opinions vary, and that such is a good thing. Discusions can be had, but no one is better or worse because he/she has a diffent point of view...

On a happier note! How is that costume coming? I've always been curious about cosplay and possibly making costumes and the like, but there's no real cons over here that are easy for me to get to.

So far quiet. Waiting for the pattern to get finished so I can buy fabric and the blacksmith had taken a break after some personal issues. Hopefully I can update you soon for further progress. And well, I have never done cosplay either (nor really been into it), but thought this was a good opportunity

 

And you're right, it does not help to dwell into this kind of crap... At least we know better than to get strong feelings over a minor pixelated character.... o, wait   Na, I've always liked the DA characters. Some more than others. And there are plenty of characters which I do not really like as their character, but still find very interesting (like Rendon Howe). And Anders...   Wouldn't touch Vanders with a tenfoot pole, but how I love that guy

 

Edit: and on a totally offtopic note... decided to give ME another try and created a soldier femshep yesterday (earthborn war hero, so going paragon). Any tips here? Also for mods/dlc's etc? (sorry, not really paying attention when people explained it to Adela )

i haven't downloaded any dlc's for the 1st one  i just played as it was, but my advice is to ROMANCE KAIDAN lol also in ME1  the shooting is not accurate so it can be a bit of a pain in the arse while your in combat but in ME2  the shooting gets better it actually hits the target lol, as for the story is pretty awesome, and the endings in ME 1 and 2 are pretty epic

I would say to just max out your charm/intimidate bar as soon as possible or else you'll have limited choices. There was this one choice with Wrex on Virmire that was grayed out... I was so hurt.

Thanks for the tips Adela and Mello! I'll also have to sort out how to weapons and upgrades work (mostly which ones are good for which character), as I seriously did not get that at all during my first try.

I have a question for those of you who know their Cullen lore I'm working on a Cullen fanfic, mostly for my own amusement. Is it known how long Cullen has been in the tower when DA:O starts? A few years? A few months?

Chiming in a bit late, but another interpretation is that he is stating that he's "new" to his duties as a templar, i.e. killing you at a Harrowing. He only talks about that in the male warden origin, in the context of never having seen an abomination before (not the female warden origin, for contrast). In DA2, we hear of templars starting their training at age 15 and Keran had been training for five years without having taken his vows yet for a full knighthood. So it's also plausible, like Galagraphia's headcanon, that he's been at the tower for 5-8 years training and only recently took his vows.

Probably would've recommended a different class myself. Good news is, if you decide soldier is not for you, you can change it in the second game. For me, the dlcs for ME1 came with the game, but I'd recommend getting Bring Down the Sky. My favorite class is engineer with sentinel a close second. I think I have all the dlc for ME2 (2 of them came with my game), but I'd say definitely get Arrival if nothing else.

I grabbed soldier because that is considered to be the 'easiest' class (and I fail hard at shooters... so prefer to have it as easy as possible). First time I grabbed vanguard (I think... at least one of the biotic ones), and did never get the hang of it.

 just go for the eyes. all you have to remember. Pop! Good fun.

You may not always hit them between the eyes, but you should get there abouts enough to cause sum damage. And take cover when you can.

I think the majority of the last pages was pretty appalled about the death threats-- and didn't even know you were the one being threatened? No one wants to see hate passed around over something as silly as a pixel character and a game. And possible a dash of misinformation?  

 

And me still feeling bad over what happened.

Well, you know what they say: "If there's anything more annoying in the world than having people talk about you, it's certainly having no one talk about you."

The death threats are uncalled for though, I wouldn't mind finding out who sent those, especially if they do turn out to be from the thread.
