Hey old thread, how are things?

To be honest, I'm avoiding the forum in general until the game is released. One mistake I did with DA2 was to spend all my time here and get spoiled and knowing who your companions will be etc. I'm looking forward to being surprised, and to Cullen. The confirmation has inspired me to continue on my Cullen/Surana fanfic.

 

I'm doing that, too. I spoiled myself rotten on Origins and DA2. I want some surprises. I got a few spoilers by accident, already. Saw a couple pictures of some companions

Well, I'm celebrating Easter with my favourite Dragon Age fan comics, and even updated my own. And now I have to answer the same old question again: what did Cullen do after Meredith was killed. I thought I had a good theory, but now with rumors of Red Templars things get more complicated, because it looks like they could only originate in Kirkwall, under influence of that Meredith statue. And if Cullen is not a Red Templar (and he doesn't look crazy enough), then he probably became aware of the dangers of Red Lyrium before it could affect him, and left the Gallows. Or maybe he tried to get rid of that statue, but his loyal men were more loyal to their lyrium cravings, and ran off with the statue instead of destroying it.

You could be right about that, but I'm also wondering how much the veil rip would have on his actions.

I didn't realise this thread was still active, I figured everyone had shifted to the new one. Will Cullen Inquisition news still be talked about here?. Iff so I might just stick to this thread instead, I've, um...not really been feeling the new one iff I'm honest.

I think, maybe it will be better not to discuss DAI spoilers here? I worry about it, because I'm trying to avoid spoilers. Like, where will we meet Cullen, and the algorithm to romancing him.
But if the news are not spoilers, then why not? New pictures with him should be ok too, I think. I can't wait to see how the transfer to the new engine went for him.

I vote for that as well, Galagraphia. Let us keep this thread as free from spoilers as possible. Maybe discuss about keeping it all spoiler-free, or will we want a certain level of spoilers (for example: do we want to discuss new companions which are not confirmed/revealed at the moment)? I don't really mind either way, although I will try to keep myself from knowing too much about the game. And yeah, I would not mind seeing more pictures of the inquisitor and the already known characters to appear in the game, like Viv, Cas, Varric, Alistair and Cullen.

I'm really concerned about spoilers because I'm not sure I will buy DA:I as soon as it comes out, maybe I will have to wait for a vacation. Falls and winters are always super-busy for me So I will probably avoid the DA:I part of the forum, but I don't want to cut myself off the fandom entirely.

yup. I thought it was a woman at first glance. But then the pauldrons threw me off. Lol! I like it, though. I think it's pretty gorgeous, and i love the negative space Dragon there in the middle.

 

And who are those two ppl to the upper mid right hand corner. Standing on the cliffs. One with a torch annnnnd one that looks like it could be Viv, But Viv that looks like she's abt to pounce on something, or crouching down.

 

Oh......I wonder how much reaction there is gonna be to the Inquisitor doing this particular magic trick? Cullen might be freaked out at first. Heck, any of the companions might just have an awkward silence the first couple of times.

 

Rank and file npc's, well, sheesh, A display of that kind of power (and not even "regular" magic) makes ppl uncomfortable. To say the least. Even if you did just save their butts with it. They'll give you a tight smile and a thank you...then back away sloooowly. It's not gonna get you invited to any backyard BBQ's, though. I tell ya.

 

Yeah, the gash Fade hand sewing up the Veil tears might just freak sum ppl out. I kinda hope we don't have to do it in public too much.

I confess, I'm gonna be nervous at the beginning. As far as, I'm gonna feel like such a cub. Such a nOOb. Such much new stuff. So much more open, and so much shyte going down. I'm gonna be like, "oh, maker, what's happening? what do i do? where are we? who are you people!?! Varric?! oh thank the maker that you're here, after all.

Heck yeah   I can totally imagine my inquisitor to be like        .

 

Poor Cullen... I wonder how he'll handle it when you pull of tricks like that? I hope he won't be freaked out too much.

 

Btw, where are you seeing people Rasc? I don't seem to be able to find them. (but found the dragon after someone pointed that one out  )

Yeah, I think it'll be like the first time my Skyrim character absorbed a dragon soul. "That didn't just happen! Right? Did that just happen? Um... guys? I'll be going now..." 

 

I'm sure it'll throw Cullen for a loop. I assume he'll adjust to it, though, unless this is going to be a very short romance.  Maybe after some soul-searching he'll realize it's a power that is used for good?

I think my Inky will just embrace the power, like a boss Unless it means she's going to die from a magical cancer, like grey wardens. Then she won't be happy for sure.

And Cullen probably won't freak out too much, or how would the romance be possible? (I imagine when Cullen freaks out - you die from being beheaded)

Yeah, fair enough. Cullen won't probably freak out too much, otherwise it would be a short game  I guess he is used to seeing various kinds of magic, and as long as it isn't a kind of blood magic and you can show him that it used for a good cause (i.e. kicking demons back to their side of the veil) he will probably be ok(-ish) with it.

I must confess, every time the topic of Cullen and blood magic arises, I start laughing maniacally, because I still ship Cullen and my blood mage Amell  Yes, I managed to make it work. To the point where Cullen found out and freaked out.
