I still don't know how they're gonna go about having him romance a Mage? I could see him succumbing to her or nearly so... And then being like "I'm sorry I can't do this". But if DG is feeling nice, I wonder what his reasoning would be for breaking his biggest rule?

He might not be a templar anymore.

I'm kind of hoping he's not.... or maybe a "new and improved" templar. Now with shiny new mage friendly stance.

True, but he'll more than likely still have issues with it. I think he'll always be a Templar at heart.

Assuming there will still be a friend/rival system, I can see a "LET ME LOVE YOU, WOMAN" tirade.

In fact, I can seriously see a rivalmance with Cullen go in that direction if the correct buttons are pushed. Similar to Anders' "I don't know whether to kiss you or kill you!", but probably not as angsty in the long run.

I'm giddy now.

EDIT

Then again, Ser Gaider did mention that if he wrote a Cullenmance, it would be strange. Like, him wanting to brush your hair and sniff your underwear strange.
I do think he'd be weird, though

I'm not fond of severe emotional abuse even if done to Cullen.

Why not? He has seen that mages are not the only ones susceptible to temptation and corruption, and from his point of view, what happened to Meredith might well have been the result of demonic influence. Those were some pretty inhuman leaps, y'know. I'm just thinking that DA2 might have mellowed him toward mages somewhat.

Out of curiosity, what is DG's biggest rule?

They wont be doing a Friend/Rival system. I believe Gaider posted while back that it didn't work out the way they wanted it to and plan to do something else.

It would be different!

Actually, it could be kinda fun... provided the protagonist had a chance to slap him down every once in a while.

Oh, I didn't mean DG's biggest rule, I meant Cullen's "no shagging the mages" rule. Sorry, I should have read the post back to check it made sense lol.

I dunno, I guess I can just see DG pulling a stunt that means Cullen won't romance a Mage, or would end up separating from her due to it. Just 'cause Gaiders evil like that lol.

Batteries: I thought he said that was just a joke that got out of hand? I think in DA:O he would have been a bit creepy/full on because he was very young and naive. But in DA2 (especially by the end of it) he seemed to have grown up a lot. So I think he'd be less creepy in DA3.

True, plus he had a different writer.
But I still want to see how Bioware would handle an LI underwear sniffing scene.

Teehee, Galyan got a nod in the leak thread. My day is complete.

And if they did give us Galyan, I wouldn't mind a bit if Cullen didn't go for mages. It would make it easier to choose. Or would that be too much like the whole Alistair/Zevran thing where Cullen was the shy, fumbling one and Galyan was quick with the pick-up lines? Either way, I'd want to see some jealousy banters there, that's for sure!

As much fun as Zevran was, he definately seemed the panty sniffing type and not in an endearing way! lol That being said, I don't mind some good old fashioned jealousy banters. Maybe even a small confrontation between Cullen and the other boy (assuming it's a boy).

Dammit. Too much talking about DA3. I was perfectly content to wait until 2014 or whenever it was, and now, I want it *right now* (assuming no religious/political railroading, naturally).

Maybe that's why they were holding off. Too much anticipation. But it's too late. Once the frenzy starts, it's impossible to rein it in.

It's a boy. Or a guy. Man, even. About the same age as Cassandra.

I know how you feel Berelinde.
Before it seems like it was like something in the distance , now that everybody talk about it , it seems more real.
But they haven't anounced it yet and before announcement and release , it's usually 6 months....

/cry.

Reading comment about NW2 , i tried to reinstall the game (never finished it ) played five minutes , stopped thinking "damn i don't care bout this game , I want DA3 now!I wanna be back in Thedas !"

It's gonna be a long long wait.

Dammit, berelinde.... am I going to have to go get Dawn of the Seeker? Tsk. lol

And I'm reminded of something one of my chef instructors said a few years back when I was in culinary school...."The older the pot, the better the sauce". He was talking about men, not food. Image IPB I'm all for an "older" Cullen.

I'm surprised that Bioware hasn't made an "official" announcement yet, unless they're just trying to avoid another "You announced the game YOU ARE OBVS RUSHING IT!!11!!" barrage of threads.
Or they're just not ready. /shrugs

If there's no reveal at the Spike VGAs (curse bioware for making me have to sit through one of those again!!) in December, confused I shall be.

I'll probably do some of each. I like to spice things up.

That''s kinda what DA2 lacked, at least for me. Two appealing male LIs. DA:O was great. I liked both guys, so I romanced Alistair with my female Wardens and Zevran with my male. It was awesome. In DA2, Fenris just didn't do it for me, so it was Anders 90% of the time and Isabela the rest. If DA3 has both Cullen *and* Galyan, I'd be in heaven... although choosing might be hell.

I don't know if you really need to get Dawn of the Seeker. It was anime, not great cinema. It was entertaining, however, and most of that was because Galyan was really, really funny. I wouldn't have watched it for Cassandra... or even for the plot. The plot itself was kind of an afterthought. It was mostly just a chance to let Cassandra do backflips.

Tomorrow is Tuesday. They really do need to say something soonish.

Well they only announced the cancellation of the expansion in March so it really hasn't been very long. Sad to say. Acknowledging DA3 would be nice though.

See and I went with Fenris most of the time because I figured he wouldn't be hanging around my house all the time. LOL I usually play female (one runthrough as male for science) and Isabela because I just like her. I don't really put much into having to decide male / female PC... just more comfy playing female and my LI makes no difference because I go for personality it seems.

They have to announce something because their Command and Conquer games was recently being announced as being Free to Play.

Theres DragonCon coming up in Atlanta as well as another PAX but I really think we'll see a HUGE announcement at the VGA Awards.

Ya know, they don't have to announce the game at a convention at all. They announced DA2 on the insert of the Awakening disk.

This so much.

Pretty sure almost every single one of my Wardens slept with Zevran, even if they later broke it off to go with Alistair. My first two playthroughs, my Wardens ended up with Alistair (he is so, so terribly hard to resist) and one of them went from Alistair to Leliana to Zevran.

Whereas in DA2... I have one that romanced Anders, one with Isabela, and one with Fenris. I finally understood the draw of Fenris (after a year and a half, naturally...) but Isabela is still my favorite LI in that game. The male LIs were good, but in my opinion they were nowhere near the level of Zev and Alistair.

True but they have ALOT riding on Dragon Age 3.  From DA:2's low sales to the ME3 backlash....I suspect all of that is playing a part on how they want to present the game.

Yep. Both of those games led fans to believe that Bioware rushed to release DA2 and ME3. DA2 I can see because of the re-used environments and no place to explore outside of Kirkwall, but ME3... Well, I loved ME3 regardless.

But definitely. They have a lot riding on DA3. It's their next big game, and they don't want fans to think that they're rushing and carelessly putting together a game. If DA3 is good, BioWare can hopefully get their reputation back. Of course there will always be people who hate on them though, haha.
