Just dropping in to check on one of my favorite threads on the BSN. Glad to see there's still lots of love for Cullen here. <3

I can't wait to hear what's in store for DA3, although knowing there was an expansion in the works for DA2 and now we won't get it makes me a very sad panda. :( I would have loved more Hawke.

Here's to hoping Cullen really will be in DA3. :wizard:

I've been reading through the some of the awesome Cullen fan fic stories on this thread, I'm blown away! I'm really surprised they didn't use Cullen as a companion in DA2, especially as he features so heavily throughout the whole game. I'm hoping it's because they've got something special planned for him in DA3.

I really hope they use him as a companion in the next game, it'll be a big missed opportunity if they don't. It would also give his character a chance to redeem himself from the backlash he's recieved due to his epilogue in DA:O and for taking Bethany to the Gallows. I'd love to delve a little deeper into the inner workings of this man and find out what makes him tick, he must still be suffering some what from the broken circle events of DA:O, not to mention the **** that went down in Kirkwall AND the fact that the poor guy appears to have been single (possibly even a virgin) for bloody years... he must feel very betrayed and lonely. I'm probably over romanticising things but I like to think that his loneliness kicks in when he's alone in his quarters at night, where he can't drown out his thoughts with his templar duties like he can during the day. I suspect the poor sod is still pinning for the female Grey Warden mage even after all this time.

I hope Bioware cut the poor guy some slack and finally give him the chance to be loved.

My fear: they were going to use him in the Exalted Marches expansion (along with Cassandra and maybe Sebastian?), but since they ditched that, we won't get anymore Cullen in the next game. :crying: I hope I'm just pessimistic and am proved wrong, but I don't know...

Apparently Bioware know that Cullen is a popular NPC, they'd mentioned in an interview about DA:O that had they realised he was going to get so much attention then they would have delved deeper into his story arc. They gave him more air time in DA2 and people seemed to react positively so hopefully we can get him as a companion/LI in DA3... that being said DA2 wasn't very well recieved so they might decide not to use him at all, which would suck.

It just seems weird that they would give him so much influence in DA2 only to not use him as a companion in DA3, I kinda feel like they have big plans for him. If they don't use him then it'll be a waste of a good storyline, I haven't seen any other NPC's get as much love from the fans as Cullen does (aside from Flemeth, Bohdan and Sandle but you can tell they already have a bigger part to play in the next game anyway.)

I agree. I think it'd be a big missed opportunity if they skipped over Cullen for a companion. It's all about character development though. I would like to hope they focus more on this more than anything. I sorely missed the companion interaction in DA2.

That being said... he'd be one hell of a LI story!

I'd definitely be playing as a mage if they do have him as a LI, just to add that extra dimension to his story lol.

The mage/Templar dynamic is the best. :wizard:

Can you imagine the drama lol. I think it would make for a very sweet romance arc, Cullen battling against his templar beliefs and his feelings for another mage. Man I'm gonna be so disappointed if he's not a companion in the next game now.

Hopefully they won't change his voice if they do use him, I know Cullen's VA has a tight schedule according to interviews and stuff.

a fan vid I found...but lets think about it...this would be a good idea...you could pick a race and class...hmmm going back to origin roots very cool this would be...and what if you are a mage but want to side with templar or maybe both mage and templars, maybe Cullen would HAVE to be a Companion....LI possibilities...ooooh

I don't think they would...his voice really is what makes him Cullen

I'm hoping they'll make him all stuttery and awkward around the new PC as he starts to fall for her, kinda like he was in DA:O but still have him able to step up to the mark and be a man where it counts (like during serious scenes etc.) I noticed he did stutter and get a bit flustered upon mentioning "the ladies" in the Blooming Rose which I thought was very sweet... I'm kinda hoping he's a virgin still too, gotta love the innocence.

Awww that would be a wonderful Romance...our poor Templar, still a big V. Hmm that would be fun.

I'm almost convinced that he is, he definitely was in DA:O.

In DA2 he was still head ****ed from his time in the circle, still not over Amell and **** got real with Meredith so I don't think he had the time to find love/get laid. He doesn't strike me as the type to just have sex for the sake of it and he seems to be the type of guy that gets really awkward around women when talking to them non-professionally... soooo the poor guy must be sexually frustrated to all hell, good job that templar armor hides a multitude of sins! :P

I don't know... I'd kind of like someone with at least some experience. Actually, it'd be fun to be pursued a bit. Not in a creepy stalker way but the "I need you more than air" kind of way. I like a take charge kind of guy. ;)

Oh, and I'm tired of the whining bit. Anders and Fenris made me want to scream "Enough already! I get it!".Image IPB

It's probably why he hesitates when talking about the Brothel lol. It would be fun romance for sure. I would then love to do a second play through and just try to take him to a bar and get him with some random girl...it would be entertaining lol

Agree!
I prefer the DA2 Cullen to the DAO because there he's too much like Alistair and as much as I adore Alistair I don't wan't someone who's exactally like him again. I liked how all the romances so far have been different.
Although I have to admit seeing him run away from my Amell was priceless xD

Same. :P The whining got really old, really fast.

Cullen will always be Greg Ellis to me, so here's hoping that if they bring back Cullen's character again, they will use GE to voice him.

I have to admit that I am enjoying Kingdoms of Amalur just a little more than I normally would since I get to hear Greg Ellis as a ton of the NPCs.

Pardon my snipping ^_^

I've been TOR'ing a bit and keep running into NPC's I want to keep for that reason.  There's one in particular on Hoth that has the "Cullen voice".  He even looks a bit like him - I really want to tuck him in my PC's pocket and take him home.

For company, and er, conversation...

Agreed, I'm hoping Cullen wouldn't get the "Anders complex" I mean its fine mentioning your issues every now and again where appropriate but bringing it up during every bloody conversation starts to get annoying.

Lol and people complain that Kaidan whines too much, they'd have a bloody field day with Anders and Fenris!
