Ah, many many thanks! Yeah, needless to say, that Hawke story of mine ended up completely taking over my headcanon.

I was just in one of the threads about potential companions/LI's for DA3 and I had a great idea for a fan fic:

After the events of DA:O and DA2 Cullen must really be questioning his beliefs. The fact that the one thing he placed all his faith in to save his "tortured soul" (his Templar beliefs) has now been completely shaken thanks to Meredith. I bet the poor sods kicking himself, he denied himself the woman he loved, beat himself up over the fact that he had feelings for a mage, seemingly avoided any or all chances for happiness (both romantically and generally) instead choosing to put all his time and energy into his Templar duties (probably as part of an avoidance technique to keep himself thinking about the DA:O events/Amell) only to have that turn on him as well. It wouldn't surprise me if he suddenly upped and left Kirkwall without a word and showed up in DA3 as some rogue Templar/hired hand. It would be amazing if he showed up in DA3 on the hunt for the PC mage to kill her or take her to the circle/gallows only for the PC to persuade/trick him into helping her instead, under the pretence that she'll return with him to the circle after her mission is complete.

Someone should totally write a fanfic about it, I'd do it myself but I'm a terrible story teller and probably wouldn't be able to do it justice. Maybe he manages to hunt her down one night and fight her, pinning her against the wall with his shield ready to either kill her or force her to hand herself in, but he catches a glimpse of her face in the moonlight and feels that familar flip in his stomach, something he hadn't experienced since his time in the circle pinning after Amell. Gradually the feelings he thought were long dead, that he thought he was no longer capable of feeling return as he falls for this new mage... of course the feelings would be mutal and their relationship would progress from tolerance/lust to friendship/love. Cue sexy time etc.

I love the Cullen/Amell ones but I always feel kinda bad when Amell ends up with Cullen if she was previously in a relationship with Alistair because I adore Alistair to bits and I adore Cullen too, so it kinda feels like one of them was always second best, plus my Amell would never leave Alistair, hurt him or let anything bad happen to him.

That being said it never feels right when I read Cullen/Hawke fanfics, but I think thats partly because I wasn't keen on Fem Hawkes voice acting and my Male Hawke only has eyes for Anders. It's also partly because I kinda like the idea that Cullen hasn't met anyone else since Amell that has stirred up the same or stronger feelings in him yet (something I'm hoping the new PC will do in DA3.)

It's a pity we haven't got any clarification about who the companions/LI's will be or what our PC's name and choice of class/race will be, I'm really looking forward to the next wave of DA fan fiction.

Some people found him creepy in DA:O but I thought he was really sweet, I mean it's not like he stalked her around the tower or paraded around infront of the mirror in her underwear... well he might have done... Hm, I would totally pay to see that!

I love the mod they've used on Cullen in this one, he looks more like he does in DA2. Gah! He's so cute when he's flustered!

Oh **** yeah, I screamed the place down when they messed Alistairs face up! I was also pissed when he didn't make reference to being in a relationship with my Warden if you keep him as a Warden too... Still, at least he didn't refer to her as "the old ball 'n' chain" like he does if he's king LOL.

I don't think Cullen would feel the same if they changed his voice actor, hopefully if he is in the 3rd game he'll be available to record this time round.

Bloody funny though, I'm never gonna be able to see Cullen in the same way again!

I was having a look through his acting history and thats how I found it. Apparently Greg Ellis used to be in the musicial Starlight Express, he released a song from it... he's a surprisingly good singer... unlike his rapping skills LOL!
