Imagine if they did make someone else like Sebastian.....how mad would you be lol...He was such a waste and to make it worse he was a Prince...so un-cool

Did they have to make Sebastian such a douche? A self-righteous clean-cut prince who afraid to touch women and wants to spend the rest of his life as a virgin. His bright blue eyes just ****** me off everytime I look at it. He just rubs me off the wrong way everytime I look at him. If they make someone like Sebastian in Dragon Age 3, they better allow us the option to kill him as well. I find Cullen adorable at the moment. He seems so unsure of himself at times, but it's kinda charming in a way. To me, he's the type of person that wants others to tell him what to do. It would be interesting if they could develop his character more in Dragon Age 3 and give him a bigger role, that alongside with Cassandra. Even though we only see her for a few moment in the game, her attitude intrigues me a lot. She and Cullen better be LI in Dragon Age 3.

Well... Lets be fair here, he aint no virgin nor afraid to touch women. Since he was a drunkard, womanizing scoundrel its easier for him to say he doesnt want it again.  I really dont understand the Sebastian hate, he has strong views on things just like all the other companions and if sex is what makes a "real" romance then im doing something wrong. :?

For me, the sex is the climax of each relationship in the game. I feel like there's a passion coming along with these scenes. They barely show anything in the sex scene, so it's not even about any type of titulation. It gives me an endgame feeling for the relationship. I know he's not a virgin based on the conversation with Isabela. It was just me being cynical toward him since everything about Sebastian rub me the wrong way. It could be because his demeanor reminds me so much of Tim Tebow. There is just something I don't like about these types of men. I really don't want to hijack this thread, so let's just stop here.

Cullen is adorable in Dragon Age 1 and 2, but even though I like for him to be playable in the third game, I'm afraid of what they may do to his character. I love Anders in the first game, but he turns into a murderous psycho and that was pretty off-putting. I'm hoping for at least a normal romance from Cullen in the next game. :?

I eh.. never romanced Sebastian. Just like in real life, I love to flirt. And not flirting at all is something I just CAN'T do. Not even when role playing. But if there isn't any other indication to say that you're romancing him, I can understand it might be dull. Imagine romancing Fenris without the sex scene... dull. No cuddling or hugging or any other sign of affection. I don't know if there's anything Seb does to indicate he wuvs you, but..yeah..

Well he can marry you. I'd say that's a pretty big declaration of love.

I really like Sebastian's character. He's one of my favourite companions actually. I don't think he harps on any more about the chantry than Anders does about the mages or Fenris does about his antimageness lol. I can even completely understand his hissy fit at the end where he promises to bring back an army to Kirkwall (which, in my headcanon, was said completely on the spur of the moment and would never happen...). I think my only issue with him was the conversation he has with Fenris about turning in Merrill and Anders. It shouldn't flag up unless Hawke has sided with the Templars X number of times IMO. And it makes even less sense if Hawke him/herself is a mage.

Wait, what? Seb can marry you?? Did I miss something?

My take on Cullen from DAO as a Mage you encounter him in the circle He definately is attracted to your character and does get awkward and bashful as he runs off. Then when you go back to the tower when its been attacked by the abominations you encounter him again when hes trapped in that field. He makes some kind of comment referring to you from the circle earlier I cant remember what he said though. Remember at that point hes a young initiate to the templars. In DA2 Many years had passed by the the end we know it had been 10 yrs. By then he was more confident and in control and stood up to Meredith. Quite ballsy I thought. So I dont think we'll have the awkward boy from DAO. So we know he has an attraction to your characters, Hes older and more mature, and now away from the chantry. So whats to hold him back a man is a man. And with Greg Ellis's voice what a man.

And on Seb yes I romanced him all the way in one run through I was not a mage.He pretty much proposes to you in a sence but then at the end before the last show down when you talk to your friends he makes no reference to your relationship like the others do. It was a waste of time. There was some cute dialog between your character and him but it didn't get steamy.

I know in the Legacy DLC, if you romanced him then your female Hawke is married to him by then, because Bethany can asks about it and Hawke will make a joke about shagging him right then and there if Seb would only let her lol.

Wait, what? Seb can marry you?? Did I miss something?

Down the friendly path he'll propose a Chaste Marriage.

Down the rivalry path there's hints of a Vicountess of Kirkwall/Prince of Starkhaven political marriage, though it doesn't actually happen. Also down the Rivalry path at the end of the game he'll begin to say you're the most amazing woman he's met, then stop short and say: "Nevermind, we can't afford distractions right now."

I like Sebastian as a character, he's a lot deeper than anyone gives him credit for and he has a *LOT* of potential if he comes back in a future title. The only problem in DA2 is he's a tack on companion so he didn't get fleshed out as much as everyone else.

I think my only issue with him was the conversation he has with Fenris about turning in Merrill and Anders.

Not to defend his actions or anything. BUT:

Anders has regularly voiced how much he despises the Chantry and the Templars and how much Mages deserve freedom and everyone religious is wrong etcetc. Anders also becomes increasingly unstable, which *everybody* in the game comments on, so Seb can't miss it. Sebastian was raised in the Chantry, the Chantry is his HOME. Everything he knows and loves is there and Anders is openly threatening it's existence. It's understandable Seb would be on edge.

Merrill, meanwhile, prances around practicing Blood Magic and consorting with Demons. Doesn't seem like a lot, sure. But you need to consider that Sebastian was raised in the Chantry, as rebellious as he was, he devoted himself to their teachings. It's drummed into him that Blood Magic is the most dangerous thing on the planet. It's, again, understandable it would make Sebastian nervous.

The only *real* problem with the whole thing is that it's Party Banter. It should have been a full blown conversation between Sebastian and Hawke, similar to Varric's concerned friend convo regarding romances.

Sorry if this counts as derailing.

Yeah this confused me somewhat. Sebastian potentially leaving his wife after the Chantry to storm off in a mahoosive strop didn't sit too well with me. :pinched: Again I prefer to think he just went off somewhere to cool down and returned later to admit he'd been a total ass.

And since it's established both DLC happen before the end of Act 3 and he's definitely married to Hawke in MotA....well yeah it's confusing.

The Seb-mance was my only play through where I killed Anders. Lord I felt so bad cuz I romanced him in a previous game. The look of him laying there dead killed me. It was so sad. Thats just me though.

Okay one last thing Seb related, cause it's going to bug me.

Lets be fair here, he aint no virgin nor afraid to touch women. Since he was a drunkard, womanizing scoundrel its easier for him to say he doesnt want it again.

To be totally fair? He actually kind of is... Not afraid of women but just, afraid in general.

Sebastian is very passionate, despite what people think. It's evident in his background story, it's evident in his current rebellious tendencies and it's evident in almost every single conversation you have with him. The biggest give away is how passionately he feels about justice.

The problem is, Sebastian is afraid of his passion. Whether he's afraid of becoming the Scoundrel he once was or afraid that he'll be cast out of the Chantry, his last remaining home, i don't know. But his uncertainties between the Chantry and Starkhaven (faithful devotion or sinful passion) all stem from the fact that he's utterly afraid of his passionate nature.

I will shut up now though, because this is a Cullen thread.

Sorry. I killed your thread... Really sorry :<

Can anyone remember how long it was before we found out companions and LI's for DA2 and it release or anything. Or was it already announced.

So do we see Cullen as a silent follower/companion or somebody who's going to voice his opinions?

He doesn't exactly have a history of remaining silent when he's passionate about something, so I think he's going to be fairly outspoken. That's a good quality, as far as I'm concerned. If I wanted silent companions, I wouldn't be playing Dragon Age.

I think he has evolved to a strong personality that will not be silent.

For DA2 , I think they announce the Li on St.Valentine Day , no?
A few weeks before the game came out, I remember it was one of the last information we had.

I think he'll definitely have something to say if he doesn't agree with the protagonist's methods. After not voicing his intial worries surrounding the Meredith incident I think he'll be even more inclined to speak his mind when he feels something isn't right, in order to avoid a repeat performance lol.

Anyone have any history on him from Wiki or anything about his back ground or anything? Other than what we already know from the games.

Aside from what we've seen in game, absolutely nothing. His background is a complete mystery. The popular theory is that he's an orphan lol.

Oh agreed!  i noticed however that certain companions in DA2 were alot more quiet than others.  I like them to voice their views good or bad and i want Cullen to be vocal either way.
