What I do, is write a few chapters. Save it. Go back to a day later, and then reread it to make sure it makes sense. That always helps. Then after some corrections I post it. I've written stuff for other fanfic thingies before and I love reading fan fic...I find that helps as well.

Poor Alistair, thats the only down side to the Amell/Cullen storyline it usually ends up with either him or Cullen getting hurt lol.

Hmm.... I just registered to Fanfiction.net, but when looked under specific rated stories, it says mature ones aren't viewable by default. I see nothing in my settings to allow me to view them.

Sweety when you sign in click on account then on settings and then make sure your profanity settigns is set to disable...I think that should fix it...if not...when looking for a story make sure your rating is either at all or M...depending on what you are looking for.

Yay. It worked. I guess I was too impatient to wait to browse hehe. ^^ I'm a bit too excited about working on this. I haven't written or at the very least, tried to write a story in years... I used to even want to be an author too. ^^ I'm organizing my ideas right now since I don't know how to start my first chapter or intro (not sure which it'll be). I mean, I know how I'm going to start it, but to start putting it into words, is what I am having trouble with (and that is why I struggle with finishing stories ).

I've always found it strange reading the Amell/Alistair/Cullen love triangles 'cause my Amell is completely smitten with Alistair and they ran off together to do Wardeny stuff lol. I'm looking forward to the next generation of Dragon Age fanfiction when DA3 comes out, especially if Cullen is a love interest.

I'm really curious to see how they introduce the new protaganist into DA3 though. Will he/she be a notorious mage/rogue/warrior or will it be a chance situation that they kinda fall into like Hawke did? Or perhaps the protaganist is being hunted for some reason? Perhaps they were kicked out of some order like the Seekers or something? Gah, so many possibilities lol.

I use this Cullen Club on deviantart for Cullen inspiration lol

and this is my favorite online dictionary/thesaurus site

And that's where he will probably be questioning his beliefs...or she might be questioning him...regardless he can meet out main there and join up...to whatever ends...hoping to find some purpose in his life again....

I like that idea! It would also bring back that feeling that you can choose in what order you do things (like in DA:O) so you start off in one place depending on your class and then work your way around the others travelling from one place to another as you see fit.

It would be kinda cool if we had to rescue him from the Orlesian equivalent of the Gallows, where he was chained up for aiding the Champion in killing Knight Commander Meredith, perhaps our PC gets captured and ends up in there, manages to escape and discovers him on her way out and decides to free him and bring him along for the ride. Alternatively maybe he's been sent to hunt down our pc but finds her and has a change of heart, or rescues her from an ambush or something.

Same here--except for the Cullen Club, since it was only today someone linked me the Cullen club, but I will use that for some inspiration as well now.   Thanks though!  Talking in this thread, looking at the old Cullen Club thread, and if I can't find what I'm looking for on the wikia, talking to people in other threads on the forums really help stir some new thoughts or ideas.

For the quest in Dragon Age II, "Enemies Among Us," if I'm not mistaken, the first part was in act one, so it was in 9:31 Dragon when Cullen first became aware of that templars were possibly almost as vulnerable as the mages are to being possessed by a demon? Then, for the last part of the quest chain, which was done in act two, it was in 9:34 Dragon, right? I know the wiki said that there were 3 years in between each act, but something doesn't look right from looking at the way they divided the quests from each act and then pin pointing around the time the act started...

I printed out the timeline and here is what I have noted: 9:30 Dragon--events in DAO begin. That same year, events in DA II began (which the wikia marked as prologue). 9:31 Dragon: the archdemon was slain. Act One ends after Hawke went on the expedition in the Deep Roads. 9:33 Dragon, Hero of Ferelden returned to the tower to look up information on the eluvian; Cullen at that time was in Kirkwall (I assumed he left later in the same year the archdemon was slain). 9:34 Dragon: Hawke defeats the Qunari in the First Batltle of Kirkwall, named "Champion of Kirkwall," and then Act 3 begins with Knight-Commander Meredith imposing tighter sanctions on Kirkwall's Circle of Magi, which, the wiki put either in 9:34 Dragon or sometime before 9:37 Dragon, when Anders destroyed the Chantry.

Hmmm, you're right...That does look strange....

but to me it seems that Cullen might not have reached kirkwall until 9:31, so that confuses me as well

I know the wikia isn't 100% right about everything, and that doesn't bother me. The reason I ask, is because I am just trying to unscramble a fairly accurate date to follow by for just my prologue (though once I do, it should help with my concluding chapter as well if that chapter is set in a different year).

Since it's fic, I would just go by the year you are comfortable with and start from there.
