I have this sneaking suspicion that this is the kind of route they'll take with Cullen, he seems like such a tragic figure and I know David Gaider loves tearing our hearts out so I won't be surprised if Cullen's is a doomed romance. Usually I would expect a "get out of jail free" card to be thrown into the mix like they did with the dark ritual to save Alistair and your Warden in DA:O, but Bioware seem to be taking a different route with romances recently so I'll be interested to see what stance DA3 takes in the bittersweet stakes.
I don't mind tragic romances, I'd be a bit gutted if Cullen draws the short straw because I'd like to see the poor guy happy for once, but if they portray the tragedy correctly then I think I could still appreciate it for it's beautiful story telling, even if I would be royally cheesed off lol.
I think I remember someone mentioning that David Gaider said if he wrote the romance he'd make Cullen creepy lol
I read that too, I think it was shortly after DA:O before they'd developed his character in DA2. I dare say he'll still have a slight creepy quality to him, but in a more intense love way, rather than the "I creep into your room at night and lick your face whilst you sleep" kinda way.
