Casey, have you seen my theory on page 442 about why it's possible Cullen could be a companion/LI based on tweets?
Thanks!
Ok, so we got really excited just by learning that he was in the game in some small capacity. But, she had inside info, she knows exactly whether that character is Cullen and if he's a fully romancable companion, which makes me think that's why she said "I get to listen to more voice acting, for the character i'm most excited about. And you should be too" - We should be excited to because it's someone a lot of people will be pleased to discover is a companion perhaps?

Seriously? That's retarded.
Have a read of the theory I posted up about Cullen being a companion/LI based on tweets on page 442, maybe that'll cheer you up a little?

Say what?? Um, yeah, and it's going to a persistent world MMO, with a completely open map. With horses and griffons and unicorns.

Ha! The writer that I think might have done Cullen's script/story (if he's a companion/LI), didn't like Anders because he annoyed her, so she killed him. I guess we can safely assume that Cullen won't be an irritating sod, motivated solely by the Templars plight if he's a companion lol!
Nah she romanced him lol.
I totally didn't romance Anders. Fenris was more my style. And I was pro-mage. Just not pro-Anders.

LOL I think the answer is "game play reasons"! You might find this interesting, from the lyrium wiki page:Shades_Of_Pale wrote...

Hmm, interesting. From the Templar codex:
"Lyrium use is regulated by the Chantry, but some templars suffer from lyrium addiction, the effects of which include paranoia, obsession, and dementia. Templars knowingly submit themselves to this "treatment" in the service of the Order and the Maker. "
Just noticed for the first time that it says "some templars suffer from lyrium addiction."
I never noticed that before, so then perhaps would that mean others wouldn't get addicted at all? Oo, interesting new info to speculate.
I have a question that may have been answered before but, why don't mages get addicted to lyrium?
"Effects of lyrium addiction were intended to be implemented in Dragon Age: Origins for mage and templar companions. The use of lyrium potions would have diminishing returns.[2]"
from DG on the original idea for lyrium: HERE.

Admittedly I'm still not getting my hopes up just yet, despite what we've seen so far this could all merely be a coincidence. However, it looks like he stands a higher chance of becoming a romancable companion than we originally thought!

Might I actually ask a question that's hopefully not revealing anything unrevealable? We are terribly curious around here about the VO process, being a character thread and all. It must be amazing seeing an actor bring your words to life. Do you, the writer, get to ... I dunno, direct or prompt at all, the actor to get the characterization right, or is there a "director" who does that sort of thing?Tonia Laird wrote...

The reason my Hawke killed Anders in the end is that he put her sister, and every other mage in Kirkwall, in danger. My rogue took responsibility for Anders, and ended him right there. That's how I role-played it, anyhow.
