Might I actually ask a question that's hopefully not revealing anything unrevealable? We are terribly curious around here about the VO process, being a character thread and all. It must be amazing seeing an actor bring your words to life. Do you, the writer, get to ... I dunno, direct or prompt at all, the actor to get the characterization right, or is there a "director" who does that sort of thing?Tonia Laird wrote...

LOL Understandable! Thanks for dropping by! Perhaps needless to say, we're really excited about everything y'all are doing.
Thanks! I wish there was more we can talk about with you guys. Some day. Some day.
We have a person who directs the actors that come in. Mostly the writers are there to clarify any comments we wrote in our notes, or provide pronounciation, or lore facts. Stuff like that. But our people who direct the actors interact with them the most.

I might question how pro-mage one could be if one was against Anders... but I suppose anyone who'll still fight the templars is useful enough in the battle, yes?
The reason my Hawke killed Anders in the end is that he put her sister, and every other mage in Kirkwall, in danger. My rogue took responsibility for Anders, and ended him right there. That's how I role-played it, anyhow.
Ahh. I let Anders live because he's my friend and because I need all the help I can get. And Sebastian is simply ideologically unreliable.

Ah, cool! Pronunciation must be tough sometimes, esp in a fantasy setting. I always remember the Kaidan fangirls endearingly excusing Raphael Sbarge for a mispronounciation in that ME2 letter VO. LOLTonia Laird wrote...

I was always moved by Merrill's rehabilitation argument, that he should help fix what he's done, following the Xena atonement model. ... except when I was romancing Seb, of course.cacey lee wrote...

One more quick question, if I may. How much time does the voice recording part take for a major companion? I always imagine someone like Alistair, who talks for like half the game must be weeks and weeks, whereas smaller parts, like say, DA2!Cullen must be much shorter. I heard that such scheduling might have played a role in, for example, Greg Ellis no longer voicing Anders since he was so busy.Tonia Laird wrote...
