I LOVE her Cullen/Amell stuff. It's great!

The stories are a series that follow this order

What We Were - A prequel to all of the below that involves Amell and Alistair

What We Are - A one shot that introduces Cullen and Amell

What We Become - The Sequel an Impressive 40 Chapters

What We Choose - Sequel to what we become and another 42 chapters

The author also writes MANY more DA stories for different characters. I highly recommend this person. The writing style is affective and smooth and makes you feel like you are a part of the stories!

Last night, when I was picturing part of my prologue taking place in Cullen's perspective, I could picture my character turning around and greeting him with a smile; if any of you have played Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant, there was even background music to what he was remembering in my story--Alice's theme. ^^ Now, each time I picture him looking dreamily up at the sky, thinking about the one he loves, I hear Alice's theme playing in the background; the reason that song in particular is just because of the tone of the scene I'm perceiving it to have so far.

it's 40 seconds into the video. I thought her voice would should up clearer, oh well.  It's still pretty much how I'm having him remember her in one scene. I mean not her appearance but the turning of her head to look at him.

So, far, I think my fan fiction is going well.  Hmm... Do you think they had pocket watches then?  Would a templar have pockets in his skirt?

That's what I thought.  I think wikipedia said they were made as early as the 16th century, but wikipedia isn't always right, and I'm know nothing about the history of clocks.  When I'm trying to look up something to use in my story, I look for -- in our world's years--objects or whatever I'm looking for particular that were around the 1400s, to be as realistic and true to the game as possible. If anyone thinks that my estimation is a bit off, please let me know.

Fanfiction.net is a pretty popular, unless I'm mistaken, website to post them at.  

My favorite is The Foolish Fancy of a Naive Boy, so far.

It's too short, in my opinion, but in that short of the story, the writer implemented some ideas similarly to how I've been planning to in my fan fic.

Well I think I know of which period you're thinking of, Medieval times, which would be the middle ages...you would probably want to do research of things that are talked about in the years 1000 to about 1300 ish. 1400s you are getting close to when the America's get established.

Actual Templars go on a crusade sometime near 1100...I think...don't quote me on that one...could be earlier or a little later. Anywho, I love history...sorry lol.

I'm trying to do the research as I go. It just seems like, every tiny little detail I consider, I feel like I have to look it up x_X. I might be making it a little harder than it really is. I scrapped the watch idea for now. I think I am done with being stumped for now...

You were right!  I'm seriously impressed...as my hopes of my fan fic turning out well is dashed away...jk.  But, seriously, after reading the first one (that's the only one I've read so far), I was like, "What?  Where's the rest? " .  I need to bookmark yours so I can read yours when I'm done.

I second VampOrchid's recommendation of Crisium's Cullen stuff. They're amazing. There's also a list of fic on the first page of this forum as well as in the Knight-Captain Cullen's fan club discussion pages. You can also just go to fanfiction.net, and filter for Cullen,or check out DeviantArt's Cullen Club.

Yeah, I agree, the technology is hard to figure since Thedas doesn't actually, erm, exist. There's an amazing number of resources for writers of this stuff, tho, so don't get discouraged! Like check this one out, which blew me away: "Medieval Demographics Made Easy" helps you figure out the stats of your fictional town... like how many taverns you'd need for a city the size of Kirkwall. LOL Amazing!

Trying to recall what I found when I was looking up clocks, and I believe in the late Middle Ages you start seeing mechanical clocks, mostly in cathedral towers and such, with some larger, more freestanding ones on a wall or sitting on the floor. :shrug: I went with  a large freestanding grandfather clock-ish kind of thing in one of my inside scenes that  needed someone obsessing on the time. And, even that might be a bit anachronistic.  But I think smaller clocks that sit on shelves and in pockets were a bit too late.

How's your fanfic coming along? I've been working on mine in the evenings but I'm not sure either to make it a short story ending with a sexy/romance scene or just let them have a tender moment, continuing the story on where Cullen disappears in the night to rejoin the Templars etc.

I'm still working on the prologue, but it was going surprisingly good...until I starting reading someone's stories on Fanfiction.net. T_T. They were so good, I don't think mine will match its intensity (as well as the humor I found in it; humor is another of my weaknesses).

*sigh* Totally agree. That's one of the things I like about DA2!Cullen... he's all about Takin' Care of Business. Ahem, yeah.

Incidentally, Defira1985 also has another BethanyxCullen series of stories that's nice, also on devArt. I couldn't really ship them, being a HawkexCullen fan myself, til I read those.

Good question. It would definitely pain me if they changed voice actors--unless it was someone like Steve Blum; I'm sure Steve Blum would be able adjust his voice to where you could barely tell it was a different actor.   Or someone from Firefly voicing over for him.  For me, it would depend on who the voice actor they pick is.  I definitely don't want the voice actor as crappy as the ones from Fruits Basket anime, or like Hawke's voice actor/actress.

I dont know if I would want a new voice actor, with Anders it didn't even feel like I was talking to the same person, maybe that could of somewhat had to do with the personality change but I think it was the voice, I would be dissapointed with either, I think I would rather have them not use him then change the voice, but I don't know.... decisoins, decisouns

If they got a good enough voice actor it wouldn't be an issue for me. The only reason that Anders bugged me so much is his complete personality change. That's my two cents... which is worth about nothing. lol

Also, anyone else read the fanfic "Control"? It's on FF.net. Steamy but not yet finished apparently.

The fan fictions I've been looking at are on Fan Fiction.net too. Nope I haven't read that one yet. Last night I stayed up to 5 AM reading "What We Become," and I'm still not done reading it. I think I'm on chapter 23.

Edit: Just as I had originally thought, it was in the "What We Are" fanfic.  /palm

Depends if they found someone with a similar voice. Ideally Cullen would still have Greg Ellis voicing him, chances are Bioware know whether or not Cullen will be playing a big part in DA3 already and will likely contact him soon to tell him to keep certain dates free, especially as he missed out on doing Anders voice in DA2. In a way the fact that he didn't have the time to do Anders voice was a blessing in disguise, because it meant Cullen would have probably been given a different VA since he plays a smaller part. It would have been weird listening to two characters with pretty much the same voice.

Anders' new voice wasn't too dissimilar to the old one, aside from the fact that Anders in DA: Awakening had a Northern twang to his accent and the new Anders doesn't. I was more bothered at the fact that his personality changed completely without it being a gradual shift in game.
