When Cullen mentions about "the one thing I always wanted, but could never have", do you suppose he literally meant the female Warden, or do you think he was also referring to a romantic/sexual relationship in general (since he's not allowed to date mages, or fraternize with other Templars and relationships in general are usually discouraged, unless you're lucky like Aveline and Wesley.)
I'm wondering this because Cullen mentions in the male mage origin that he is new to the Templar Order, so surely that's the case in a female mage origin too? In which case, how could he have always wanted her, if he was relatively new to the Circle? There's no denying that he was deeply in love/lust with her, BUT I kinda get the feeling that maybe he was referring more to the fact that the demons has discovered his deepest desire (a relationship, be it sexual or romantic), rather than it just being solely about our mage. If that makes sense?

Ok my new chapter that I'm rewriting, makes me really really realize that I am one disturbed individual...God, I feel the need to make it extra long just to make it not so...morbid and gratuitous
I feel your pain. All this discussion about what makes the templars evil or not and why it makes Cullen just as despicable - or not - has me trying to finish the fic I was writing about Alrik and what Cullen does to protect mages from him. Once he's had a rude and disturbing wake-up call that is... which is disturbing and gratuitous and I can't believe I wrote it.
I wanted to do a kiss!fic but I feel the need to add some redemption for our favorite knight.
My problem, is that my fun loving mage is becoming a little disturb, wich i planned from the start. But it's happening a little sooner then I wanted and she's a little more...mean then I thought lol
Ah. Gotta love it when characters do that.Do you feel it's a natural progression for her? Or does it seem too much too soon in regards to her evolution? Or just in regards to your comfort with the story?
I think it suits her just fine actually, that's the funny part. She's been through a hell of a lot, my little mage. And she's kind of finally just taking it out on someone, unintentially btw. It's kind of her moment to just let go, and be the bad guy for once. But only for a moment, Cullen snaps her back to the real world, real quick.
Oooo! That's always a fun ploy!

So, if Cullen is romancable in DA3, do you think he'll be like Anders in the sense that he'll be attracted to your protagonist instantly and hold a torch for him/her even if you romance someone else? For example, Anders make it clear right from the start that he wants Hawke, he'll even flirt if you don't do it first. Kaidan is another example of a companion in a Bioware game that makes it obvious from the start of ME1 that he finds female Shepard attractive and shows signs of jealousy all the way through if you don't romance him.
I'd personally like him to be attracted to the protagonist from the start because he appears to be the type of man who doesn't fall in love with just anyone, but when he does he'll fall hard (like he did with our female mage Warden). Not forgetting that he still seems kinda awkward when it comes to anything of a sexual nature (the young ladies at the Blooming Rose) so I can't imagine he's had much (if any) experience when it comes to the social norms of dating/courting/romance/etc so any genuine feelings he may develop for the protagonist (be it love, lust or just attraction) is likely to be amplified 10 fold because he's not used to the general protocol of such things, especially if he's been burying himself in his work for the past 10 years.
I can only imagine what sort of pent up frustration the poor guy is gonna go through before finally allowing himself to be happy LOL!
I think he might be, but won't let it show right away. He's a little more focused now and not some young pup. So being all jittery around women, probably won't be as big of a problem.
I don't mean jittery or in your face with it. I was thinking more subtle, like trying to be professional and ignore his feelings or wait until he knows for sure that she's interested, but occasionally his feelings will get the better of him and perhaps make a biting comment to an NPC flirting with the protagonist, or accidentally say something incredibly sweet to the protagonist, which gives his feelings away, which he then tries to cover up by maybe stuttering or mumbling out something to change the subject to avoid looking stupid lol.

I think the differences between dialogues is just another oversight on the writers' parts, really. We also don't know how long he's actually been there for it to be "new" to him. Or is it just the Harrowing that's new for him? Perhaps as a knight in training, he was at the Tower for a couple of years but became a full knight just recently and was still adjusting to the role of full time protector/guard? Under some of these scenarios, he could have known the PC for a while or just a little bit. I took his dialogue in Uldred's prison to mean that he wanted her specifically. He calls her the one thing he's always wanted and then adds that she's a mage as if he can't believe the woman he's fallen for is a mage. This tells me, he likes her specifically because if it was just a relationship, the demon could have dredged up any pretty girl. While yes, that girl mirage could have still been the PC, I think his self-loathing in that moment wouldn't have been as great. But that's me.

I'd hope that he'd fall for the new protagonist with as much (preferably more) intensity and fire that he did for the Mage Warden. I'd be a bit annoyed if our new character seemed like second best lol... That's if he's actually a companion/LI in DA3. If not, then I hope they find him a decent wife or something, the poor thing needs looking after!

LOL seriously, just when you think he couldn't fit anymore metal and cloth onto his attire, he some how manages to cover himself in even more layers of fabric!

It's a re-drawn picture of the leaked survey concept art. It's been drawn up in big by a fan, so that we can get a clearer view of it. There's no evidence as of yet to suggest whether the leaked concept art is real or fake.

Have you had a look at the leaked concept art from the possibly legit DA3 survey?

Lol your right about Ezio......But if what the Devs have been saying is true.....then we can change his outfitSamaraDraven wrote...
I'm not that crazy about it. I like the darker colors that the supposed leaked concept has but I'm not keen on the fur. Or really most of the outfit. Iwant to see him in pants. And the new getup looks a bit busy to me. There's a lot going on. Cullen has always been in a clean, straight forward uniform and I think it suits his personality well. I don't mind changes but the cluttered looking layers just don't seem very... Cullen-y.They're more reminiscent of Ezio's assassin robes to me.

I like the bottom half of the outfit, but I'm not so keen on the top half. That being said, it kinda looks like he had to fashion his attire out of bits and pieces he had lying around in a hurry. Maybe he had to travel by foot a fair distance so he needed to wrap up warm LOL! Or maybe that's the Orlesian Templars official uniform? :-S
Perhaps after years of wearing Templar uniform, he wanted to be a bit edgy and unique? LMAO, I swear that fur scarf will be the first thing to go when I swap bits of his armor around.
