I've just thought up another idea for a fanfic... it's not entirely centered around Cullen, but he would feature heavily since it would be told from his perspective. Here's my idea:
As we all know, Carver had a bit of a crush on Merrill in DA2 but nothing ever came of it because he either dies/becomes a warden/Templar or Hawke **** blocks him. So, running with Carver as a Templar theme what if Merrill some how managed to get herself caught by the Templars and locked up in the Gallows with the other Mages. Over time Carver and Merrills "frienship" beings to blossom as Carvers feelings for the young Elf develop. Cullen notices the growing chemistry between them, drawing similarities between the young lovers and his own desire/relationship with Amell all those years ago, deciding to silently keep a watchful eye on them should he need to haul Carver in for the "talk" that Gregoir had also once given him.
*Cue lots of wistful flashbacks to the Cullen/Amell story* as he witnesses the telling signs and subtle body language between them as Merrill studies books in the library whilst Carver stands guard, gazing at her in awe and infatuation etc. Cullen does his best to secretly protect the young couple without causing suspicion by creating distractions when other Templars almost catch them in the act etc. Eventually Meredith gets word of Carver and Merrill's escapades as Cullen desperately tries to protect them, eventually aiding them to escape the Gallows as Cullen grows to sympathise with their plight, having sacrificed his own chance for happiness all those years ago. Also giving Cullen the chance to have a heart-to-heart with Carver, who already guesses that the woman Cullen is talking about is infact his cousin, since he had heard the rumours circulating the Gallows that Cullen had once been in love with the Hero of Ferelden.
What do you guys think? Do you reckon that would be fanfic worthy? Does anyone fancy having a go at writing it?

Only if you happen to come across any that you want to share, I don't wan't you to have to go out of your way or anything. I might go look on fanfiction once I log off
