I find it depends on the story. To be honest, I just prefer that the chapter end appropriately, so leaving me wondering or wanting more. I don't think I ever notice the length, unless it's an in progress fic and I only get it a chapter at a time. Then, sometimes, I get frustrated with long chapters if I don't havea lot of time. But, in that case, I consider long to be 5,000 - 10,000 words.

Not long at all. Usually two hours. But then I reread, go over it. Take stuff out. Put stuff in. Set it aside. Write another chapter or two. Then put all those aside and come back to again another day. Reread. Add, remove.

Did I mention that I'm completely insane?
