Yeah best to avoid prizes of monetary value, always a really bad idea from my experience.

My only real thought on prize was if somehow the winner got a shirt with their design. But I have no idea how to actually do that... we'd all have to pitch in somehow... I like Samara's ideas a bit better.

Hm, problem is, how many of us are natural artists here? Most of us would have probably used Cullen's face/body model from in-game at the very least.

This is the challenge... and why we open it up to the professionals out there...

Yeah...:? But fanmade stuff for the winner - or winners -  is ok, yes? I do like the idea of a friendly contest and think we can do it. If the designs are submitted without revealing who made them until after the poll, that could eliminate people thinking that favoritism is at work. One of us would have to be the keeper of that knowledge, though, and thus unable to vote.  It's kinda like how a secret fic exchange would work in that regard. Once winners are chosen, the reveal can take place so everyone knows who did what. :)

good points about anonymity. As I mentioned, earlier, I'd be willing to the admin part. It appeals to the organizer in me. But, indeed, the submission process would have to be a bit more ordered than just submitting everything here on the forum.

I thought that would be cool too, getting the winner their shirt, but that would mean all of us chipping financially and I know I can't afford that right now, even in small amounts. However, I can help run the contest, if need be, or do something for the winner, like fic. I don't know if I could actually compete right now but I can help with other things.

I dunno, I think it all poses a lot of problems for something that's just supposed to be a bit of fun.

Definitely! If there's to be a contest, the submission process should have better structre than slapping everything up on the boards. :) The submissions could be formatted to fit multiples in a single post or a post of links to the images? It allow the forum to keep from being swallowed by art posts, making viewing them all and whatnot difficult. Just my thoughts... :)

I think if it's actually a contest, then we'd want the submissions done via PM or email or some such. Then, we could post them for voting on a blog or a separate forum post or something.

But, let's see what others think about the contest notion, versus just another mass share event, like page 500. I see lots of pros and cons.

I'd personally prefer a mass share event that people could buy on Cafepress if they want by uploading them.

? I always start my morning a few pages back from the last page so I can kind of catch up on what's going on. It's really easy!

Morning!  Still trying to decide if it should be a contest, or just a mass sharing event on the forum. Scroll back a few, and we'd love to hear additional opinions.

About page 516 I think.

About the contest: Maybe we should run a poll to decide if it should be a contest or mass sharing event? :P Someone is going to be unhappy, no matter which way we go. At least with a poll, everyone can add their opinion annonymously. We might never make a decision otherwise. lol! :D
