And In Oct 2011 they were already Publicly addressing ideas and such for DA3. And 6 months ago Mark Darrah said there would be no more dlc for DA2 so they could focus on other projects entirely.

So we have about two more years or so..if the game isn't to feel rushed...or I dunno? i'm not good with this stuff...

Im hoping we all hear something at the VGA's.

I just got it today. Do you think much of the book will play into DA3?

Yeah, in a way. Though I still hope that DA3 won't revolve completely around it. 

It's doubtful that many key factors from the book will play a part mainly because there have to be so many set variables that exist solely in the book, where in the games a lot of those variables can be changed by the player. Also, a lot of players don't actually read the books, so it would feel unfair to those that are unfamiliar with certain aspects of that literary universe. I think there will be tie ins, but they will be subtle.

I reckon we've got at least another years wait. So if they were to announce at the VGA's in December, then it'll be out in late 2013/early 2014.

 Not to be a downer but what if Cullen isn't a LI in DA3? Man are we gonna feel stupid? I just hope he is and wish we knew a lttle more of something concrete about if he is or isn't.

Well we know he's definitely in it as a cameo/NPC at the very least. If he isn't a companion/LI then we keep being loud about wanting him and maybe we'll get lucky and have him as a DLC romancable companion. If we don't get him as a companion/LI within the main game or as DLC, then I doubt we'll ever get him at all.

So I'd say we literally have one shot left at this ladies.

At the VGAs 2010 in Dec, I went right out and pre ordered it. It was supposed to be out Dec 30 2011  but then set back to Mar 2012

My theory is that if they don't consider him eligible enough to be at the very least a non-romancable companion (preferably romancable though) in DA3 despite a large chunk of it being about the Mage/Templar rebellion, then there's a slim-to-zero chance of getting him at all in any future DA games. Not to mention that he's getting older now, so if this game takes place over a long time period like DA2 did then he'd probably be too old after that.

Part of me thinks the DA team would be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity to make him a companion/LI after the wealth of dramatic experience he's had from a personal stand point, but at the same time I won't be surprised of they don't use him.

More reason to give him to us as a companion/LI! They can do all sorts of evil/dramatic stuff to him/us in-game instead!

I have a transcription of all of his deleted battle cry and companion dialogues over here.

The only audio I've extracted is this absolutely laughable comment (Cullen (when bored): "So… do you think Andraste was a virgin? She was the Maker’s bride… what do you think that means?")

I'll try to extract the rest of his audio later this week. Poor tumblr will get bombarded with the audio posts so I'll stagger them in my queue and give them a unique tag so they're easy to find.

Unfortunately, it is a massive pain to extract audio from DA2 because none of the audio resources have useful names. I haven't yet found his audio in that mess but eventually I will...

Yeah December 2013/March 2014 sounds about right then! That's only 4 months away, so we don't have too long to wait. I think we can safely say that it won't be out in early March 2013 like a lot of people originally thought it would be.
