Recently I found some old posts of a thread where everyone was getting excited because Bioware had posted up a picture of Cullen in DA2 prior to it's release, before they had announced the companion's. They all thought he was going to be romancable, then later on when they found out he was romancable, I find a bunch of posts by people complaining about it lol. And that was small fry compared to the carnage that will occur this time round!
... Knowing me I'll be the one leading the revolt LMAO!

My husband played DAO once. In fact, he wanted the game and I was iffy about it but after watching him play, I started a play through as well. Frank played once. As a male mage. He romanced Zevran and then broke it off to romance Morrigan. He plowed through Awakening and Witchhunt. But DAII didn't gain his interest at all. It's been solely my game. Recently I began another PT of DAO and Hubs walked by and looks at my screen and asks, "What game is that?"
Me:"You don't remember?"
Him:"Should I?"
Me: "You only had a homosexual relationship with an elf for a third of the game - how can you not remember?!"
Him: "Well you know my memory isn't the greatest." *watches me play through a battle* "Looks kind of slow, clunky and lame."
Me:"Gasp! How can you say that?! You, who spent HOURS fine tuning and tweaking your tactics and then spent a half hour explaining your genius to me. You who liked to plan and strategize your party's every move, how can you say it's slow? You liked it that way! That was one of the things you HATED about DAII! You didn't like the awesome button. I don't see how you can forget the 3 months of your life you spent playing this game, exploring every possible nook and cranny and replaying key scenes with different dialogue choices just to get 'the maximum benefit'. You are insane."
Him: "So which one is it that has that Cullen guy you go on about?"
Me: *headdesk*
Him: *shrugs and walks away*

Not necessarily. "Self-selecting" is a very specific term that is used in the world of research design. DG's phrase "self-selecting surveys" is probably refering to this: bioware's surveys are filled out by people who go out of their way to volunteer to take the survey. This means that they aren't the same as the average gamer or the average person who purchases bioware games, and self-selected participants are more likely to be extra enthusiastic about whatever it is you are collecting data on -- in this case, DA3. Extra-enthusiastic people will give you data that isn't the same as the normal gamer population and it is hard to make conclusions from self-selected survey participants because they don't represent the average person who walks into a store and purchases a game like DA3.
True. So I guess he's either sarcastically suggesting those survey leaks were fake, or confirming that they could be real. Confusing.

If my boyfriend played DA2, he'd want to romance Varric just because he's cool LOL! If he played DA:O, he'd probably want to romance Shale or Oghren knowing him! Strange boy. He did offer to by me an Alistair statue/figurine thingy the other day though... And them decided he also wanted to by a Reaper one.
So what you got out of this...is that he would sleep with himself hahahSamaraDraven wrote...

I was so surprised by the Zevran thing! And it was almost accidental. Frank had starte the romance inadvertently but let it progress to the love scene and everything! He said it was a good scene and it was nice to see a game have an adult subject like sex in it. He even thought Zevran was a nice guy. He liked that Zev enjoys the finer things and said he liked to imagine he was a lot like him. He saw himself in Zev. Then he accidentally triggered a romance with Morrigan and she was like "Why do you pursue me when your heart lies elsewhere?" or something to the effect and Frank was like " Wut? How did she come up with the idea that I wanted to sleep with her? Wait. I can sleep with her?" Then the next time he spoke to Zevran, Zev was putting him in the "You have to choose" ringer so Frank broke it off and went and sexed Morrigan that night. LOL!
