So I've sat down to write it....and the more I think about it the more I think......Cullen just doesn't like boys. I've no idea why I think this but I'm pretty sure he's straight. I've no idea why the feeling is so strong with him because I had no problem seeing Carver with men and he's given no indication he likes anything other than women...

That may be the issue right there. I have absolutely no trouble whatsoever imagining Cullen with the right guy, but a Carver/Cullen pairing doesn't inspire me. Cullen is really not Carver's type, and I don't think Carver would be Cullen's either.

My favorite "type" for Cullen would be a more experienced person who is tolerant of Cullen's quirks and who is patient enough to explain why somebody would want rubberized sheets and tactful enough to do it in a way that didn't embarrass him.

My favorite "type" for Carver is a slightly needy/vulnerable person who would build up his confidence. Don't know, but I get a rather distinct "straight" vibe off Carver. Moreso than Cullen, actually.

I dunno, I've read a plausible male romance for Carver... but it came as a surprise even to him. LOL Anyhoo...  Carver and Cullen wouldn't be my OTP or anything, but as far as DA3, I'm hopeful the DA writers can do something plausible with Cullen as well. 'Twould be a shame to limit anyone if we ever got our chance to romance him.

In other news, enjoying how small a world the internet is. Saw someone post one of my Cullen banners on tumblr today. Tee hee. "I support Cullen for DA3" indeed.

Now I gotta get crackin on the icon challenge!!

No, David Gaider has since revealed (via twitter) that the events in Kirkwall that were referenced were instead the Kirkwall rebellion that got Meredith promoted to KC in 9:21. So presumably the movie took place not too long after. EDIT: Altho, I still think there's a time jump in the movie, and the book scene likely happens not too long before she goes to look for Varric.

So, I agree with LolaLei, I think such a senior big wig becomes increasingly less likely as a regular companion. But then... Aveline was the captain of the Guard, so who knows!

 Oh yeah, there's no doubt they've hinted heavily that there'll be a Seeker companion, and she does look like Cass. So could be. But from a story perspective harder to imagine, IMO. That said, if she is a companion, it's probably much less likely that Cullen would be a companion at all since they're so similar. I would still anticipate that Cullen would make an appearance, at least as an NPC... Esp given the Greg Ellis leak, but I would honestly be surprised if we were to get both Cullen & Cass.

If we do get both... Hard to say who would be a more primary character. As the Divine's right hand, Cass is a mover and a shaker in any Mage-Templar war plot, whereas Cullen is just a pawn. We've discussed numerous scenarios, however, where Cullen could play a role in personalizing the conflicts of the war... Since choosing a side will be a very difficult and personal dilemma for him. To my mind, it parallels and builds upon the conflict he already faced with Meredith in deciding what he thinks the Order stands for.
