Lol is it bad that I like the idea of his life being one tragedy after another, until he meets the protagonist?

Ok here's a new question for everyone:
What sort of sex scene do you think Cullen would have? And I don't mean "will there be ****** 'n' arse and can I see his todger" lol, I'm talking about the type of scene you personally feel would suit him best. Like, will it be outdoors or inside? What kind of environment would you want it to take place in, would he be nervous and shy at first, or go in all guns blazing etc. Would you want there to be a scene where you see them cuddling after sexytime or would you prefer him to pull a Fenris stunt, make his excuses and get the hell out of there quick. Also, when it comes to the way in which the sex scene is put together, would you prefer it done in a similar way to the Mass Effect 3 scenes or do you actually wanna see dry humping in pants like the DA:O scenes.
Details please! :innocent:

New question:
If Cullen does have a family somewhere, what do you think their background will be based on the way Cullen himself talks/acts. For example, rich nobility, poor peasants, farmers, merchants, royalty, one parent is an elf (city or Dalish?) and so on.

It would certainly be different! I don't think we've had that in a companion's backstory before LOL!

I had a thought. Remember "Best Served Cold"? You can have Hawke recommend that the mages not be shown mercy, and Cullen will basically allow them all to be killed ... even sweet Alain.
I don't know, that's really upsetting to me. Not sure I can forgive him for that.
Keep in mind that Cullen acts at Hawke's direction. I've recommended Alain and the conspirators be shown mercy and their punishment is relatively lenient.
I did have a chilling moment once when I instead recommended that Samson be re-instated into the order. I asked Cullen what happened to the conspirators and he said "Did you not see them when you came in?" He then talked about how Meredith would tolerate no dissent amongst the templars.
It took me a second to realize that Meredith had the conspirators executed and their bodies (or maybe just their heads) put on display near the entrance to the Gallows.

Wasn't Zevran's mom a prostitute? Not so much on the embarrassment, though.

That's a good way to describe it! Yes, this! I would love the first one to be the dam bursting. Maybe not quite as wall throwy as Fenris's, but definitely with him taking control. I don't care if he's a virgin or not, I'm over the uncertain stuttering. He may not really know what he's doing, actual technique-wise, but if he's acting on strong emotion, I'd like to think he'd figure it out pretty quickly. Then the second time could be slow comfortable, with the PC showing him a few things.meanieweenie wrote...

Looks like I missed a few good questions last night...
I'll give the short version on this one. I don't really have a preference as to location except that I know I don't want Andraste staring at me so no Chantry! lol I'd prefer a good hardy "guns blazing" followed up by some snuggley pillow talk. I'd also like there to be more than one scene throughout the game. I don't suppose we'll be lucky enough for that, huh? That way you can have the rough and tumble AND the slow comfortable. Please no more fade to black either. It doesn't have to be balls out Witcher style pixel porn, just a little more than DA2.
Ooh, meanie, I like this one! It would be cool to have some actual myster/drama/quest around his parentage. This idea would certainly provide an interesting counterpoint to Cullen's views. Cool!meanieweenie wrote...

Ok, I thought about this one for a bit. What if Cullen is raised as an orphan - either in the Chantry or other. His family is presumed dead from a 'random' attack. He was told they were just regulare folks, merchants or what have you. Maybe his mother was a seamstress or something. Then tra-la-la throught the game a bit and someone makes a reference to Cullen's lax Templar beliefs are "so much like his father's". Huh? No, surely you are misinformed. Game goes on, at some point you're fighting your way through a prison dungeon and come across some withered old man - a Templar that spoke out against the mistreatment of mages and was locked away years ago by his nutty boss. (a la Meredith type) Spring him from the pokey. Blah blah blah. Find out he's Cullen's father, who was told that his entire family was dead years ago and he had no idea that Cullen was still alive. Heart felt moments... gather serious information on the plight at hand.... Daddy dies.
Too early.... need more coffee.

On his parentage... I have so many ideas knocking around in my head now, I'm not sure what's my favorite anymore. I used to like the orphan, no history thing, but now I'm thinking it would be cool for him to still have roots somewhere. All we know is that he's Fereldan, so I imagine him being someone middle to lower class.
Given his diction, he might be slightly more middle... but then I see a career templar like him being given an education at the Chantry. So maybe joining the templars is a way to improve your social standing a bit, you know... like he's the first in his family to go to college, as it were.
I was flirting with the idea once that in his "spare" time he goes back to the old family farm to help out in his spare time and maybe sends part of his paycheck there. It could be something he doesn't talk about or share, but isn't ashamed of, either. They're a close-knit, down to earth family, and that's what grounds him. They're extremely proud of him for how he's 'movin' on up' and... for a little drama, let's say he never told them about Broken Circle and being committed to the Chantry in Greenfell. He doesn't want them to worry.

Meanweenie: Wouldn't his dads brain be shot to sh!t after being locked up with no lyrium for years? That would actually be awesome! Like we find this crazy ex Templar dude in a dungeon who starts rambling on about a son and it turns out to be Cullen.

It'd be like finding out the crazy ass hermit in the Brecillian Forest was your dad! LOL You wouldn't know what the heck he was talking about half the time and then all of a sudden he'd spout out something totally coherent and profound. There would have to be one thing he prattles on about that you think is complete nonsense until later in the game and we're all like "Ooooooooh! THAT'S what he was going on about!"
Edit: Be back later. Time to make some breakfast for the monkey.
