I'm hoping whoever writes his companion dialogue (if he is one) has done their homework and looked at his past history and taken it into account. I'd also hope that they'd visit this thread to gather data on how the fans see his personality etc.

Last year they announced Varric and Izzy before the game was released. Once the game was released we heard about the rest, excluding Seb....But usually nothing until after it's announced. Until then, it's all speculation lol

Wasn't there also all kinds of talk about Fenris? Maybe just his name was released? Because I remember there being people speculating on if he was a werewolf.

I don't think they had said his name, but yes they did talk about him. I believe we got to know his name right around the time they revealed Anders being in game. Which we were teased about, they did say a Character from the previous games was going to be a buddy.

Yeah, weren't they calling Fenris "MEG" for mysterious elf guy before the game came out?

DG said in a interview they relized what they did wrong with Anders Character ( other than not keeping Ellis his VA) But I don't forsee them making that same mistake twice and this time we really will get Ellis!!! in excitement Squeeeeee

Yeah as I recall he was in a video but they hadn't given names yet, same with Merrill. I think by release all of the companions except for the siblings and Seb were officially announced on the official DA 2 site, but Seb was announced shortly thereafter.

Kinda Its more lock down this time it seems. Because of the show as they go.  I see a announcement at VGA and they'll still have time to finish the game in its entirety.
