What's even better is going to *other* threads on BSN and seeing them... folks who don't even post here. LMAO  I even saw one of my Cullen banners on tumblr the other day!!

Given the chance to become a Grey Warden, would Cullen join? Why or why not?
Hint: lyrium probably wouldn't be a factor in his decision. The GW's have connections!

I think he'd consider it IF he felt it would serve whatever goal he was trying to achieve. Not in a devious way... more like "OK, I've been booted from the Templars but I feel strongly that I need to stop XYZ and this is a means to an end. I'll sacrifice myself for the greater good." Does that make sense?

Interesting question Brush. I think I agree with meanie... that if he were conscripted for the "greater good" he'd go with it, but he wouldn't seek it out. But then... does any ever seek it out? The GWs seem kinda picky. Since he's a duty kind of a guy, I think he'd see it as just a new calling... no pun intended. But, if given a choice, I think he'd turn it down to stick with his strengths, as it were.

Definitely. Like if he found out that it was something like Corypheus that was making all the mages vulnerable abomination-fodder and Nathaniel Howe said "how 'bout it?", Cullen would drink the juice and learn to love wearing blue. And I think after awhile he'd really enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a group of skilled warriors who treat each other like equals and have a very high calling. I bet he'd even eventually enjoy working side by side with mages who use their gifts the way the Maker intended.

At this point I bet he'd be tempted just to have an easy "out" from the Chantry situation. Though he'd always hate himself for taking it later.

Yeah, I think Cullen's a fixer. He'd probably be happy as long as he could pick a cause and find the means to defend it. I think he'd actually make a really great Grey Warden, although he'd have a serious problem with some of their unorthodox (read: sometimes immoral) practices. Any means to an end.

kk So what did I miss?

edit: I kind of think that Cullen would never intentionally abandon his cause and having had actual contact with a warden would figure that while their goal is a noble one, it isn't worth a thing if the world tears itself apart before the next Blight. 

Cullen imo is a man who has sort of found who he is while in the Templars, found where he belongs in the world. Sort of like how Alistair feels while he's in the Wardens. I think he would be pretty shaken by how his life has been turned upside down, but he would find some semblance of doing his duty were he to protect a village or a group of mages and finally find some peace with the PC either as a friend or a lover (or both).

Eek, just to be on the safe side -- Disclaimer... I didn't make the chibis. They're by BlueLagoon4 on dev art. We just shrunk them down. Once they're a small mess of pixels they're not quite recognizable anymore... but just beware that they are someone else's IP.

I just turned into a pumpkin, so not thinking quite as agilely anymore! 'Night all!
