R2s Muse: I reckon it's a bit of both too. He seems very wistful when he mentions her in DA2 but I also imagine that he was embarrassed/ashamed that people knew his secret, not because he's disgusted by Mage's but because his Templar duties require him to be wary of them, not fall in love with them, so by allowing himself to have feelings for her he felt like he wasn't doing his duty correctly and had made a mockery of his beliefs. Plus he probably felt a bit daft for being naive enough to consider having a romantic relationship with a Mage, which he must have thought about regularly for his feelings to progress from just lust to full blown love.

You both make good points. I didn't think of it that way, even though I was well aware of those thoughts.

I'm posting chapter 4, or rather, Chapter 3, since the prologue shouldn't really count. Dang. I didn't intend writing my fan fic this fast. >< I

LOL Yeah, it seems it was pretty common knowledge in such a high schooly small community as Kinloch Hold. So many catty gossips. But watching that vid... ack, I've run across that one before and that voiceover... erm.  Yeah. No. Cool vid, but I just can't stand listening to it... It sounds like Luna Lovegood to me. LOL

Good point! No offense! It sorta reminds me of one of the DA:O voicesets... one of the mystically ones.

Dammit, and I just finished reading a part last night in "What We Choose," where he was touching himself in the bath tub.  You are making it harder for me to keep my :innocent: rep. in tact.   XD

LOL that's the best part in the story! Kinda wished it wasn't a Hawke/Cullen fic though, I kept reading all Hawkes lines in that snobby irritating voice of hers!

I can't finish my current DA story even though Hawke is supposed to disappear soon because writing her has me envisioning that snooty,snobby -noes-in-the-air voice and it's affecting my ability to write her personality as anything other than a colossal ****. Even though I know she has joking dialogue in the game, the sound of the delivery doesn't sound like a friendly jibe; it sounds demeaning. So I'll be removing that fic and publishing something new that takes only a few nuts and bolts from the old story and chucking the rest. Including Hawke. I'm keeping Cullen though.

@LolaLei: I'm so sorry for what happened with your boyfriend. I've never been in an abusive relationship myself but when I was growing up my sister and her boyfriend were living there and were very abusive torwards eachother so I have a feel for what you're talking about. I hope things get better and you can finally fully move away from it. I even have a bit of a similar story myself! (well minus the boyfriend part) But I don't wan't to dampen the mood lol

Aw, it's cool. I hadn't actually intended to go into it quite as much as I did when I started writing about why I grew attached to a game character but once the flood gates opened I ended up going into a rant about it LOL.

Lol tell me about it! I just spent the last 10 minutes looking at Cullen videos on the internet, I'm too lazy to do another playthrough, man we need more Cullen content!

In Cullen's codex it says that the rumour that he was once in love with our Warden Mage seems to cause him
pain. Based on what we know about him throughout the course of two games (ignoring all fanfic and speculation) do you suppose it caused him pain because it was lost, unrequited love or because he was ashamed of falling for a Mage?

I was playing my character I'm writing a story about, before I started writing it, but I haven't really touched it since I started writing... oops ><

I haven't played DA:O since I finished my ultimate playthrough where I done every quest etc... although I still didn't get that random Easter egg where a group of people ask you to pull an axe from a log lol. I'm still playing DA2 currently, I've got 2 more achievements to get before I've got 100% completion, so I'll finish that then do my ultimate play through some time nearer to DA3's release, just to refresh my memory.

I think it'd be interesting if both your imports were mages.

As for me, if this playthrough of my third "Alfidaiya" (not counting Awakenings) goes well, I'll make her mine (oh but I don't have the pc DA 2...I can always remake her on console I guess); then there's my female dwarf noble I love.

Well ignoring my fan-ness (if that's even a word) of wanting to say it was all because of loss, hmmm, at least for my warden it wasn't unrequited, though maybe he doesn't know that and feels like it is? I think it's a mixture of all three to be honest. I'm sure he feels like he lost her after he yelled at her and he also seems to have shame about it (less so in DA2) but I imagine it still exists somewhat

I think it's a mixture of things too. He seems to have come to peace with it when he mentions her to Hawke since he sounds quite wistful when talking about her. I think he'll definitely be in a better frame of mind mentally and emotionally in DA3, his guard will be down in regards to love since he'll no longer be eaten up with guilt like he was at the end of DA:O/beginning of DA2.

So when he suddenly finds himself falling for our new protagonist he'll get a whole new set of reasons to be dramatic because he wouldn't have expected such strong feelings to be roused in him again lol.
