The first time I played DA2 my import was a female noble that married Alistair so I hadn't known about Cullen being in love with the Mage Amell and I hadn't realise that he was the same Cullen from the broken circle quest. It wasn't until I played through all the origins stories for the achievement that I decided I liked the female Mage origins story best and then started up my ultimate playthrough as one, discovering Cullen's little crush really intrigued me. Then I played through DA2 a second time with my female Amell Mage and I realised that Knight Captain Cullen was the cute stuttering Templar from the circle... Then he mentioned Amell and I read his codex and I thought "aw, you poor thing!" and started looking into his back story etc on YouTube and realised that he had quite a fan base, I hadn't expected to find fanfics and art about him lol... Things kinda progressed from there and I decided that he absolutely had to be a LI in DA3 lol.

Ya know ladies... I am a pastry chef. I wonder if I could whip up a bunch of cookies with Templar logos. If we had a viable address I could ship some to Gaider. Just sayin'.

I've noticed the dev's have been lurking around the forums commenting on threads a fair amount recently, do you suppose they're looking for feedback/gathering inspiration and ideas for DA3? I wonder if they look in threads like ours to see what the fans think of their characters and who they want in the next game? I mean, they must check these types of threads out otherwise how else would they have known that the fans wanted Anders as a companion again in DA2 for example.
I often wonder if maybe they introduce certain characters into their games with minor roles (like Cullen etc) to see how the fans respond to them, then react accordingly if the request to have them as a companion or LI is big enough.
Ok, I kid but that is a thought. I mean, how else would they know just how much the fans want Cullen in DA3? They're probably mining all sorts of ideas for how his character develops from here and comment sections on interviews. They be like

There's probably some program they have that'll flag how many time a character's name comes up. And I bet Lola is a spy... she IS British you know. Aren't all good secret agents British?
