Side Note

1. The Inquisitor
2. Sera (Elven Thief)
3. The Iron Bull (Kossith [Tal-Vashoth] Mercenary)
4. Dorian Pavus (Magister)
5. Cole (Spirit)
6. Trident Guy
7. Senior Grey Warden
8. Cassandra Penteghast
9. Cullen
10. Dog
11. Unknown

This is the leaked info/the Dog is someone I expect will be in since there has been one in each game.

Ah, thats a good list right there...  Wonder which ones would be romancable? Surely not all but most and Maker I hope the Kossith isnt one of them.

I'd say definitily Cassandra and Sera since they are both the only women then Cullen and the Kossith guy since people have wanted a romanceable Kossith for a while. But who knows I think Dorian might be a romance option also. Mind you a lot of these characters are subject to change.

Thats a good point, theres only two females... Well now I doubt the list even more. Nooo, no Kossith romance. Just thinking about Sten's chat to Morrigan... *shudder*  Unless of course it wasnt sexual but look at how that went down with Sebastian. :?

<snip>

I'd hit that

Ah, littlenikki, I'm there with you... painful Kossith sexy time notwithstanding.

I do wonder at the validity of those companions now...  Indeed, not very many women. How many LI do they usually have? two each??  Maker's breath, the gods of science are going to strike me dead for making statistical generalizations from two games... but then... I have a good joke about that...  :kissing:

If we're talking about Mr.Junior, so would I....

Uh, I came here for something and now I can't remember what.....

Oh right, I came here to politely make a request of you, Littlenikki. Since you are offering people photo shops, would it be... Out of line, to ask you to find a picture of Nicolas Cage and photo shop his face onto Cullen?

It's a relatively cruel request to make of a Cullen fan, but I could do with a laugh.

Well yea, RDJ is a definite top five on my list of do-able men, but I was actually talking about romancing the Kossith companion Posted Image

Of course I can do that for you. I've got to take a break right now as I am starving, and been putting off going to get my coffee for two hours now, but when I get back I'll put that at the top of my to-do list. I have a lot of lists apparantly...

When I get back I'll put that at the top of my to-do list.

There's no need to rush, I'm a patient girl and I wouldn't want to stand in the way of any projects you currently have running. Just, if you happen to have the time at any point, it would be amusing to see the result.

I was under the impression that the pictures/examples given for those companions in the leaked survey were just suggestions. Plus, chances are not all of those would actually be in our party. Like, maybe Trident guy is an NPC or the lady with the pen might be an example of one of the background NPC's you see walking around Orlais etc.

That's an interesting notion. Yeah, I'm still reserving judgment about all the leaked stuff till we know more.

But, seeing Allan Schumacher's response on how they had reservations about using the name Inquisition, but went with it anyway... I'm exceedingly curious now about what they learned from that survey about people's impressions of the name...

I quite like the fact that they've gone with a name that they knew would cause a bit of trouble, because it gets people talking about it. I'm confident that we won't get railroaded into being pro-chantry. Even if we do have to work with them, there will be a good reason for it and we'll be able to screw them over later if we want no doubt (like in ME2).

Yes, his post did make me feel better. It's one thing for Elite Pinecone to hop in and say "Yeah, they know," but he doesn't sit in on the planning meetings any more than I do. I still find myself thinking "You knew that fans were already on edge, you knew how controversial (sp?) the name would be, and you went with it anyway?" but at least I can wait more patiently.

I imagine the story stuff - protagonist, setting, etc - would be solidifed long before the companions were decided. Perhaps the survey dates from January or something, during the pre-production phase. Maybe they just forgot to take it down?

Chances are they picked the name purposely for that reason, Bioware love controversy and enjoy scaring the fans, it's what they do best lol.

Heh. It's an expensive hobby. Scaring the fans is not a good way to sell games.

True, but if it pays off then it's big rewards!

LOL I bet they were worried about the controversy, but went with it for the cool factor. Say what you will, DA: Inquisition sound freakin rad.

Say what you will, DA: Inquisition sound freakin rad.

I honestly find it difficult to take seriously.

Despite the Spanish Inquisition being an utterly horrific reign of terror and it's atrocities being permanently burned into my mind by my morbid fascination, Monty Python has ruined me a great deal...

Without the context of the utterly horrific historical crusade of righteous "justice", when I hear the word inquisition all I do is think of Biggles.

No, I'm sure they were going for the "cool factor." Some people will buy anything that makes them feel like a BAMF.

LOL I can also see that! Indeed, they must also have expected the "nobody expects the Spanish inquisition" jokes to abound.

What is Biggles, if I might ask?

Biggles is one of the particularly dim witted characters in the "Spanish Inquisition" sketch.

No, I'm sure they were going for the "cool factor."

I'm relatively sure they weren't.

I believe they were using it to so that the buyers might build a connection to the Spanish Inquisition. Regardless of how funny the Monty Python sketch was, the Inquisition was a truly atrocious and utterly horrific time in history and I don't doubt that they were attempting to use that horror to promote that the game will be relatively dark.

*Yawns* Sorry I just disappeared I fell asleep after the fantastic Danny Duncan...did you see it Lola? Anyway yeah I doubt that anything in that survey is permanent the only thing semi official is likely Cassandra and that Warden.

As for the name I think it's supposed to invoke a darker mood...and it sounds awesome. The lighter part of it could indeed just be a cop drama while the darker parts are torture scenes. Plus I know someone...somewhere in game will say nobody expects the Orlesian Inquisition...though it will probably go like this.

Noble: *Gasp* The inquisition I..d-didn't expect you.

Cullen/Cassandra/PC: Nobody expects us.

Something less on the nose.

I also think that since the original Thedosian inquisition is so vague it wouldn't be that hard to expect the other races, I don't expect it mind you but people can dream (not me though I always play as a human).
