I thought that he could end up being sent with you for some reason either by the divine or Lord Seeker Lambert(or whoevers in charge of the templars now) If he stays with the order than I imagine he's the Knight-Commander now, but considering there's no longer any circles I could imagine him being sent with you for some reason either as a partner (non-mage) or to watch over you (mage)

I keep forgetting that there aren't any circles left. I guess the Templars will all be sent out to try and break up Mage rebel groups and capture/kill as many as they can.

Any idea if Seekers are born/forced into their role or if they can join of their own free will? Cos I'm thinking that maybe if our PC is a Seeker then there would be a good reason for Cullen to join up with her, however a lot of people would complain about being forced to play a main character thats part of a religious order, BUT if maybe we can choose whether our PC believes in the Maker etc or if she was forced into it and is resentful and blasphemous then that could be kinda fun!

That could be fun. But the story would have to veer very far away from pro-mage and pro-templar to avoid feeling like DA2. That said, it could be interesting to pick from origins whose differences are a just a few shades of gray.

I keep forgetting about thte circles too. Were they all gone? Or just some gone and more getting restless? If there was no more circle after DA2, I can see the Chantry trying to accuse Cullen of failing in his duties to save it and charging him with gross negligence or incompetence or something like that. Maybe even charge him with not stopping Meredith when she was clearly crossing the line? Just to have a scapegoat you know. :D It'd suck for Cullen but he'd be driven to redeem himself something fierce!

I keep wondering why the Divine or anyone in the Chantry would order the PC to go anywhere and why. I wonder if it'll have anything to do with the Urn of Sacred Ashes? Maybe that's what Orlais invades Ferelden for? They want the Urn because they think it can save their selfish backsides from the renegade mages?

SamaraDraven: I just checked out the DA2 endings on YouTube, Varric and Cassandra both mention that the circles are all gone and Varric says he thought the Seekers would all be out killing Mages especially now that a lot of the Templars are rebelling, to which Cassandra says "not all of us want war."

For the life of me I can't work out how they'll introduce the new PC, especially if it's based around the Templar/Mage rebellion. I'm hoping they'll give us an individual origin story based on the PC's class though (since I doubt they'll give us race origins like in DA:O.)

LOL check out the expressions on Cullen's face after witnessing Meredith turn to stone:

He's actually wincing in that second picture! It's amazing how you can completely miss those little details whilst playing the game. I've gotta say ladies, we seriously hit the jackpot with his appearance in DA2... considering what they done to some of the DA:O characters *cough* Alistair and Zevran *cough* we ended up with a total ****ing stunner! He's easily the best looking male in the game by miles.

Yes he is! In DAO, he was more worn out and haggard looking (but still cute) but in DA2, he got better and the other hotties got ugly and that's how Cullen rose to the top of the heap! :D Although... when I compare DAO Alistair and Zevran to DA2 Culen, I find I still like Cullen a little bit better. And then DAO Alistair and then Carver and then DAO Zevran. For reasons I can't explain, I also dig Loghain sometimes. *runs away and hides*

SamaraDraven: Loghain is actually quite attractive in a bad guy sort of way... a damn sight better than Arl Rendon Howe anyway!

I thought Cullen was cute in DA:O but as you say he looked haggard, tired and a lot older. I sometimes get the impression that Bioware had meant for Cullen to be a kinda creepy Templar with a crush/comic relief character for people to laugh at how awkward he was? Especially the way that those apprentices in the tower talk about how his intense stare was creepy. It totally back fired on them though 'cause a lot of people took a liking to him and David Gaider and his team really didn't expect it! I think that was largely due to Greg Ellis' voice acting making him sound really young and heart breaking sweet. Maybe that's why they made him so attractive in DA2 as fan service?

I also realised the other day that Alistair actually has the face of his voice actor, except they made him gingery/blonde instead of dark haired.

I agree, Cullen's definitely one of the best looking males in DA2. I think we just got lucky with his appearance meaning I don't think they were trying to make him super attractive he just turned out that way (thank god we had someone from origins attractive)
I know that the divine is helping the mages and Lord Seeker Lamberts leading the templars, I'm not sure whether Cassandra is under the divine or following Lambert. I'd think Cullen would follow the divine but I'm not sure

Loghain is HEAPS better looking than beaky faced Howe. :D I always thought the mages banter about Cullen being creepy was less Cullen-Is-Actually-Creepy than Mages-Live-For-Gossip-And-Exaggeration. Greg Ellis did imbue Culen with something far more earnest and sweet than the supposed "creeper" Bioware wanted to make of him. :P They should have hired someone else if they wanted "creepy". But I'm glad they didn't.

I personally don't see any resemblance between Steve Valentine and Alistair. Steve is smaller in the face. Alistair has all those broad manly angles where Steve is narrower and less pronounced. But that's me. I'm probably wired wrong anyhow, since I see Greg Ellis AND Paul Walker in Cullen's face and yet they look nothing alike to me when compared together.

I didn't really care for Cullen's nose in DA:O. It sort of looked like he'd been in a bar fight. Much nicer in DA2!

Steve Valentine (Alistair's VA) is on this show my son watches on Disney XD sometimes. It totally threw me off at first. I remember standing in the kitchen and all of a sudden I hear Alistair make some really stupid joke. Huh??? Didn't realize he was on a TV show. lol

Oh and I'm not 100% sure but I think they announced the companions around January when dragon age 2 came out. They didn't announce them all at once but I think Anders was the last to be announced

I had the same thing happen when he appeared in a Wizards of Waverly Place tv movie. The kids were watching it and I was in the kitchen and suddenly I'm like " Alissstaaair?" I watched the movie to the end even thogh it mostly annoyed me, just to imagine Alistair talking.I'm strange, I know.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I thought I'd share this with the Cullen fangirls and boys.

I just saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides for the first time, and Greg Ellis (Cullen's VA) is in it in a minor role. I gotta say, it was odd to hear the voice coming out of a real person... lol. He sounds exactly the same :D.

Not too strange since I've watched "I'm in the Band" more than I want to admit for the same reason. LOL

SamaraDraven: It's not so much the face shape, more his nose and eyes etc. I think they took his basic appearance and then made him look younger and more masculin.

Meanieweenie: I love Steve Valentine, I have a horrendous crush on him... he reminds me of a magician or an aging rock star... and then I realised that he was indeed both LOL! I remember watching Monk a little while back and I was only half paying attention and I heard this smart mouth comment in a familiar voice and I was like "NO ****ING WAY, IT'S ALISTAIR!"

(I could have sworn I already posted this once already but it seems to have disappeared, so I apologise if I'm repeating myself.) But after watching the DA2 endings again I seriously think Cullen will actually be in the dog house in DA3 either because they'll accuse him of not making enough effort to catch Anders, resulting in the Chantry blowing up which caused the Mage/Templar rebellion and/or because he let Hawke and his/her companions go (if Hawke sided with the Mages.) Varric mentions in the Mage supporter ending that hundreds of Templars were sent to regain order in Kirkwall but that Hawke 'n' co were long gone by then, as were all the Mages by the sounds of it.

So it could be a high possibility that we will end up with Cullen as a companion either as a punishment to him/reason for him to rectify things as a Templar under orders of the Divine or whoever OR as some sort of ex Templar hired hand/lyrium junky lol.

There's also the possibility that he left along with Hawke because he knew he was in deep sh*t.

At the moment I'm scouring IMDBpro for any signs of a DA3. lol So far I'm empty handed. Sorry.

Oh... my... god... That is... I can't even say. On the one hand, Steve is hot hot in leather pants. The next thing, he looks taller and like he's put on more weight since the Wizards movie and last? I see what you mean Lola about a few of his features being similar to Alistair's. Not enough to make them look exactly alike but some.

And he whines all cute like Alistair does! :D

I dunno, he seems the type that believes so deeply in the Templar order and justice that he'd take the wrap and face his punishment, even if it was death.

True, but in that same vein... if he knew that persecuting ALL mages was not just I can see him trying to help usher out the few innocent ones. Or if you let Anders live, I can see him going after him.

I don't know if the DIvine would punish Cullen or if she would even have the authority to anymore, I guess since the templars officially broke-up with the chantry I don't think they're still under the divines command, though I think CUllen would probably follow the DIvine anyway. I have no idea what's going on with the seekers. If Cassandra is still under the divine maybe Cullens taking order from her now.
Hmm this brings up an interesting point if they do make Cullen a companion do you think they'll keep him a templar or make him an ex-templar?
