If Cullen is a male-only romance, I would want backstory to explain it. Canonically, he is attracted to women. He might have a very good reason for only wanting to romance men, but given that it runs counter to his canonical attractions, he would need to explain his Very Good Reason otherwise it would feel odd and out of character. Of course, if he has a Very Good Reason, as long as it is interesting and he's happy in a M/M romance with the PC, I'll have a good reason for playing a male character for at least one play through.

I have a funny feeling that there will be a "why do people find Cullen interesting" thread once per week between now and whenever DA3 is released.

About the Iron Bull ... I can't even begin to describe how I excited I am about him lol I find kossith incredibly sexy, and I've been dying to romance one since I first played DA2 (played that before DA:O). So if this Bull guy is romanceable, I will be like ... the happiest girl on earth xD

If Cullen were only available to male characters... I would be pissed off because BW would be going back on their promise to make everyone bi and thus available to all players. I know I'd be just as pissed if he were only available to female characters, so it would be wrong for me to be satisfied with the other way round!!

 You and me both, Moto. The Kossith's revamp was really hot. I remember there was one scene in DA2, during the Act II quest "Offered and Lost", where Sister Petrice's templar protector (Ser Varnell?) was torturing qunari, and for some strange reason the lighting made me realize how aesthetically pleasing the qunari actually are. I think Zevran mentions them being very beautiful in DAO in a conversation with Sten as well. So if the Iron Bull is available as a romance I will be a very happy girl too! <3 A Kossith mercenary with the personality of a dwarf? Count me in! B)

Also, in regards to Cullen being a M/M romance only, I can't see it happening - ever lol. Especially since the devs would know that most of Cullen's popularity comes from his fangirls... and he does show interest only in a female mage in Origins. Not that I'm not hoping for him to be a bisexual love interest - I think everyone should be available to everyone, DA2-style  - just not a purely M/M romance lol. It would make no sense, and aside from being really disappointing to us girls who wanted to romance him with a female PC, it would also be retconning his character. So, no thank you.

Yeah, unlike the people who say "all bi makes no sense, wahhh," having Cullen ONLY like boys LITERALLY makes no sense because he has canonically expressed attraction to women.

However, he BETTER like boys or else I'm gonna make that sexy kossith companion step on him.

Puppet, I noticed how hot the kossith were the second the Arishok appeared. The way his robe thingy shifted when he walked ... *shivers* And then I had all kinds of fangirl feels over the Aashad x Saemus "friendship" hahaha xD

Indeed, I was a little dismayed at how sexy I thought the Arishok was. I was so bummed I had to kill him. Kossith companion would be interesting, but honestly the Iron Bull descriptions so far haven't really done anything for me. Now... That female kossith in the comics has potential... She was smokin... :)

Yeah, I was expecting it to turn into a flame thread. I think it probably would have if everyone else wasn't over in the DA3 forum lol.

It certainly is! The DA2 forum is pretty much dead.

Y'know, despite the fact that I've always thought it would be cool to have Cullen as a companion, I probably wouldn't have been too bothered if he wasn't... until I started visiting this thread lol. The fact we discuss his personality/PTSD/personal development etc totally opened my eyes to just how much he's grown as a character over the course of two games.

Now if he isn't a companion (especially a romancable one) I think I'll be quite gutted.

Some of you ladies probably make some a mod to have a leading girl with very deep voice to romance.

I personally would love to have a strong leading gay character in a Bioware for just once, but I probably would not want Cullen to be gay-exclusively. He did express interest in women. You guys have been pretty supportive of Cullen being available for all genders, I don't think I have the heart to even suggest otherwise. I would probably be disappointed with you guys. =]

Lola: you and me both. I will be utterly disappointed if he isn't a companion. It would be an oppertunity missed from the devs.

David Gaider: "The Cullen thread is both baffling and vaguely concerning, like finding underwear on the sidewalk."

... I'd say that's an accurate way to describe this place!
