Keep in mind that the  Templars don't rebel for three years either. Basically, nothing big happens in Thedas during that time, until Asunder starts. I think the real question is wht the heck was Cassandra doing? When did the Divine give her that book, ala the scene in DotS? Obviously at least that part must have been contemporary. Why didn't she question Cullen?

But, that's just it, so much could have happened. I have about a billion ideas, some of which I'm writing about ... elsewhere... <_<

PS: Dawn of the Seeker takes place many years before. David Gaider says that the Kirkwall reference on DotS is the problems that put Meredith in charge. (The old Viscount killed Meredith's boss and she in turn killed the Viscount and got made KC).

True. But Cullen must have done something other than tidy up Kirkwall in that time. In theory he would have been made a KC, in which case he would have been at Lambert's KC gathering, thus agreeing to the Chantry split.

I know it's possible that he wouldn't be made KC due to the whole insubordination thing, but all the Templars there back him up and saw Meredith go loopy so they would have backed him up? ... Unless he had another PTSD attack and got sent away again lol.

Right. There are multiple refs to this.

p. 44, p 51, p 63...  But it's always "a year" which makes no sense. Moreover, if you search for all the refs to the Blight and to the last time Rhys saw Wynne, they talk more about nine or ten years ago. Even if you count from the start of the Blight, 9:30, that puts the story in 9:39 at the earliest.

Anyhoo... instead of rehashing... I'll send you here. We had a bit of a discussion about it with some good ref points by me and some others, but no good answers. The dates just plain don't add up.

Or, as I mentioned earlier, it could be that he's no longer trustworthy. Perhaps still a templar but not KC material.

But he could also have been made KC and then something happened after that.

Or maybe he was there... I can't imagine Cullen would be the only person to have reservations about it.

All Lambert says is: "Fifteen Knight-Commanders in one room, and not a single one had raised a voice in protest. They all knew what needed to be done. Those few that held private reservations would either remain silent or be replaced."

right... that's my point about the scene with the book. I can't have taken place in the past like the rest of the movie... it has to be contemporary, since that was clearly Varric's book.

Hm, it doesn't sound like Cullen to remain silent, not now anyway. I'm really intrigued to find out in DA3 what his fate has been since we last saw him, I'll be interested to see how they pull this one off, especially if he is a companion.

You know what I think already. We wont hear anything until the VGAs. They will put out a trailer. After that they might answer some questions about what we saw in the trailer. Then only little bits here and there , eventually they will confirm companions after that before the game comes out they will announce LIs.
