Hey I got a survey from EA didn't think much of it. Asked me a bunch a questions about games I play and what I liked about them, Ended up mainly asking what I liked best about Skyrim.

Hm, I'll check and see if I got one. I really hope DA3 isn't too much like Skyrim, the storylines and characters are weak as hell.

You're probably right. I guess I'm just not keen on the idea of being thrown straight into the action again, I wanna get a feeling for my surroundings/personal story and set up my protagonists general personality traits before I start the adventure.

Yeah I'm with you there I want some backstory to my character.

Indeed! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
Which is why the instant hate over the title confuses me because of how little we know. People are
worried their character will be dictated to them but they also want a rich background story. I imagine it's not easy for devs to strike that balance.

Sorry I took a while. Had to do lunch! :D Anyhoo, if you're still up for adding me, here's a pic. I loaded a few others in case this isn't a workable one.

You know it's really awesome of you to do this! Is there anything you'd be interested in having done for yourself? I mean like a drabble or something?

Check and check! Nope, I'm just doin this for fun so I don't need anything in return Posted Image

Well that's cool! I just thought to myself "Man, it's awesome that she wants to do this! I wanna do something back." So I thought I'd put it out there.

My husband LOVES Skyrim. But he likes running around an open world and trying to find every. Single. Resource, Nook & Cranny! It's a gorgeous game and the player abilities customization rocks but, for me, that's only half of the RPG experience. I like the characters and their interactions. A big beautiful environment doesn't interest me if there isn't stuff to do or different party configurations I can drag along with me for the sake of doing one kind of play through over another. Skrim just feels too lonely for me. :? Which is a shame because it looks so pretty.

Yeah, It doesn't matter how vast and beautiful a game looks if there isn't a motley crew of unlikely comrads following me around.

I heard this before and liked it. If Skyrim and DA had a baby it would be awesome take the two best parts of both and mix together hopefully will be DAIII.

That's something that really lacked in Skyrim. Even if you choose to invite a follower along, they have zero personality. Apparently they actually released a DLC for it to give the followers more of a personality, but it still doesn't work all that great and fails miserably when compared to the characters and NPC's in Bioware games.

It would indeed be amazing. I guess I'm just worried that they'd spend so much time making the environment open world and pretty, that the storyline and indepth characters/companions and their personal storylines would suffer.

I think Skyrim will be on my xmas list this year. So it's not worth it? I just can't play DA2 anymore? I tried to last night, with two different Hawke's, and I just felt myself falling asleep. Cause I've seriously played the game like 20 times, completed it at least 10. I need something to tide me over for DA3!!!

Now THAT would be awesome!!! Which is why, if the devs are on the mark about taking a page from Skyrim's book, DA3 should be an epic game! If it has a fraction of the open-world aspect to it and is at least almost as pretty and has BioWare's penchant for storytelling (and they ironed out the kinks) Dragon Age Inquisition should blow all our socks off. But if it falls a little short of that, it'll still be an awesome game. As long as we're not railroaded into one protagonist and one kind of class or affiliation,I don't see how they can screw this up. They've got a rich pool of content to draw a story from and plenty of idea about what the fans liked and didn't, plus a new awesome engine to make gameplay better. I've said before that if there had been time DA2 could have been amazing. DA3 has already had more time and is still being worked on so I hope the devs are able to finish everything and make a great game. It may sound foolishly optimistic but DA3 could be that baby. :D Well, one can hope, right?

I love Skyrim, but compared to Dragon Age, the NPCs are really lackluster. There were only a couple that really stood out for me. I'm forever spoiled by Bioware's rich characters.

FWIW, I couldn't get past the first prologue part of it. I got so motion sick, even with third person perspective turned on. Husband also didn't get very far, sadly. But different strokes and all that. Most folks seem to adore it!  So probably still worth checking out.

Uh oh. I don't get motion sick, but I do fear I will find it boring, so....
