I know! I know! But I can't! I'm busy! Got so much I'm already working on AND trying get all my stuff squared away for going to Trucking Academy. I'll get to it eventually...

Trucking Academy? Like, seriously, learning how to drive big trucks?? How awesome!!

edit: rats... that may mean I'll have to add it to my list... that would be cool...

Yes. Trucking, as in the big, honkin 18 wheelers! :D I'm excited but also nervous. Kinda sad to be having to be away from home a lot but it will support the household. Once I'm settled into it, I can write when I'm off duty and sitting bored in my rig.

Edit: Hi Danny! Hi Ladies! *waves*

Edit: Edit: Man! I killed the thread again! hehehehehe...^_^

My dad's a trucker, not the cross country kind. He would just be gone a normal work day. He took me to work once and let me drive one of the trucks....I almost hit a pole. Did I mention he drove gasoline trucks? Posted Image Needless to say, that was the last time I got to drive one

I didn't catch that, actually. I think most gamers really want that escapism and cheating is a bit... too real, I guess? Games are great when they seem realistic but only as long as it's an idealised kind of life. Personally, I think cheating in a game could be neat but that most gamers would only not hate the mechanic if they could control it somehow. For instance, maybe when you romance a character like, say Isabela, you're kind of on a tight rope in regards to earning her love. Lust is easy but not love. hehehehe... So if your PC were to flirt with anyone else after you've begun a romance with her, Izzy might see that and decide to keep her feelings strictly carnal and cheats on you later when the opportunity arises. If you cheat outright on her, she may just call you out on it and say something like "Invite me next time, will you?" After that, if your friendship is high enough, she might still sleep with you but only after making it clear you're just having a night of fun together. No Love here.

FYI, over on the twitter thread, someone posted a clearer view of this image, and bigger. I've also heard that it was originally DA2 concept art last time it was posted, from... the strat guide or PnP guide? Something like that.

So, it's the Seeker symbol, not Inquisition.

I have the strategy guide for DA II, I'll flip through it and see if I see it.

Edit: Found it! Well, so much for that...

Awesome, does it says what it is?  I'm thinking maybe Lowtown concept art?? I know there's deleted dialogue that Cassandra came to Kirkwall during the game.

It doesn't say, it's just on a random page right next to some information about crafting.

There, there, it isn't a bad idea. It hasn't been done before (that I know of). It's just... complicated. Fan rage. Betrayal. Credibility check (How dumb does a person have to be to get involved with the person writing his paycheck and then cheat on them?) And then, inevitably, the "My LI is better than your LI" threads when people gloat about having somehow managed to choose the LI that didn't cheat on the protagonist. The latter are amusing at first, but get old fairly quickly.

Does it irritate anyone else that the people in the "Why do fans like Cullen" thread in the DA3 forum ask us why, but when we give them intelligent answers they completely ignore it in favour of the ones that say "oh they like him because they think he's hot and he fancied their Warden".

There's loads of them as well. I thought the mods were supposed to be locking repeat threads. Funny how they were quick enough to shut down R2's one and that wasn't even a repeat of what we've already seen.

N'aww its not that nobody likes it, I mean the cheating idea has been talked about before and people did like it but after someone spots flaws in the idea, it ruins it. Also even if someone has read your post and liked the idea doesnt mean they have anything to say in response  oh and in a busy thread such as our dear Cullens its very easy for people to miss posts too. Its not like they didnt reply on purpose, or didnt read it. It happens all the time, you just have to deal with it...

Yeah, some threads just scream troll and yet they are taking down some perfectly valid ones instead... Which sucks.

Yeah same unless rallied I tend to stay here :P

I think some people open threads to see if people agree with them or if they have varying opinions while others make a thread to see if people are as shallow/stupid/whatever goes through their heads. We could give the most thoroughly thought out answer ever that literally blows the socks off of someone open to it, but if they aren't then they just want something to pat them on the back and make them feel smart.

I know it sound stuck up but sometimes people just open threads to pet their ego. I'm sure everyone's done it at least once.

I'm a college English instructor, so I am used to reading poorly constructed arguments based on ignorance and just plain nastiness. These anti-Cullen threads (most of them) are like the 5-10% of my students who write similarly hateful papers that are not based on reason and are not backed up by a single reliable source. I grade those accordingly and move on.

However, the great majority of my students are thoughtful, hard-working individuals who listen to dissenting opinions and constantly reform their own. They don't get good grades because they agree with me; they get good grades because they know how to thoughtfully argue a point (even if it's something I don't agree with).

I like to think that the majority of forumers and even DA players are like those students. Those the haters, students and thread starters alike, are just a small minority, and it's best, as they say, not to bother feeding the trolls. Give them their "F" and move on.

Oh Maker! I despise that! I saw it in a thread, while a discussion about Cullen's character, his storyline potential and why he's a fascinating case study was going on at that time and had been for the past few pages and I just wanted to shout at the poster. But sooo many others jumped to his - and our - defense. Some, not even Cullen fans, said "What? They DO talk about him seriously. Where have you been?" So that made me feel better. :D

Hehehe... That's ok. Barbie and I never had tea time. But she was sometimes the G.I. Jane among my brothers' G.I. Joes! :D When she wasn't being the damsel in distress for Indiana Jones to come save. And also Ripley. I repeatedly stated that I wanted Theresa, because she had curly dark hair and kept getting every other kind of blonde barbie because "You're blonde too so you match!". Finally, I got a Theresa... and chopped her hair short and proceeded to take down the Alien figurines a friend of mine had.

It doesn't bother me. It's the same reason that if a journalist interviews 100 people, they will always air the interview of the person who choked up the moment somebody shoved a microphone under his nose.

I know... my bitterness knows no bounds... <_<

Maybe we should just start our own threads "why would anybody like _____________ (fill in the blank!)"

Then first post... "We invite all the haters of other people's fandoms to just dump their vitriol here! Go for it!"

Work is strange? Dude, I want your job! LOL!

I think trucking will be cool. The being away will be hard but the kids are older so they can adapt better (I think) and once I have the income, I can maybe purchase a laptop that;ll allow me to video call the house when I have wireless. or get a cell that can be a hotspot! :D Generally, most truckers get about 1-3 days at home for every 2 weeks out. That's just how long the cycle of runs they put you on tend to work out. After a few weeks, I can put in for home time and have more days off at once but then it's back to the cycle for a few more weeks. By law we have to have a certain amount of days at home in a set time frame, but I forget exactly what is is. Dad stops in places all over the country to visit family but sometimes his hometime requirement is up before he can get where he wants to be so he has to spend home time wherever he's at and squeeze in family visits whenever he can manage. I'll be primarily coming hom, not tripping around to socialize with everyone I know so I should make it home at least once every two weeks on average. Once I have experience, I can try for a local route and be home every day.

And thanks! I'll need all the luck I can get! haha! This trucking thing is all new to me but I'm excited. :D

Edit: Gotta go now! But before I do, I started this last night. Trying my hand at free drawing with colors directly. Still a looooong way to go!

We can not refer to Cullen as "Cullypie", "Honeyboo", "Sweetieass", or anything else cutesy and vomit-inducing if we want anyone outside of this thread to take us seriously.

Driving a truck sounds exciting. Good luck with everything!

I would never in my life be able to drive a truck. I mean I can barely drive my little automatic car Lol :P
