For the short amount of time they spent on it they done a bloody good job! I would have expected something a lot less with little over a years work involved. So in theory, if they can create DA2 in over a year and still have a good looking game then given an extra year or so DA3 should be pretty impressive... or better than DA2 at least!

That explains why the romances and stuff felt rushed I guess!

It's funny, even though facially they look very different you can still tell it's the same character even though he looks a lot younger in DA2. I'm hoping they won't change his face too much in DA3, if they can keep him looking pretty much as he does in DA2 with maybe slight enhancements to the quality here and there then I'll be quite happy.

Just wait, they'll give him too us as a companion and make his story and romance arch phenomenal, BUT! They'll turn him into a mutated hamster! Gah, Imagine the horror!

I agree! It was amazing what they accomplished in that short amount of time plus with all those other projects going on. Although I would of loved more DA2 dlc I think it was a smart move to put the effort into making DA3 better. Plus they were already looking for design artists for DA3 in April last year, it makes me think they're further ahead than we know

I'm almost positive they know who the companions are going to be, I dare say they've already got the characters fully designed face/body wise even if the armor concept hasn't come into play yet. I doubt they'll look too dissimilar to how they did in DA2, though I hope they pretty the Elves up a bit, they all looked like they'd been hit in the face with a wallop mallet.

Hello everyone! Just popping by before trying to go to sleep. This place really started hopping lately. I approve 100%. I have to admit, I like the DA2 Cullen better. Even if there is some super hot guy in DA3, I'll still romance Cullen first since I've been waiting so long to do it! Probably won't be back till Thursday. I'll have a good time catching up! Ahh this is hard question... 
It would depend on how ugly they made him and what he was like compared to the other companion
I romanced Anders in DA2 even though I thought Fenris was better looking, actually I had a very hard time in chosing between the two

I was gutted at how they'd made Anders look in DA2, they even got rid of his hooped earring! In DA:O he pretty much looked like Alistair with long hair... actually his personality wasn't far off Alistair's either, except smutty rather than naive. Mind you, his new look sorta suited what he'd become, since he looked gaunt and a bit dishevelled in DA2.

I wouldn't romance the new guy until I'd romanced Cullen first! But if they beat Cullen with the ugly stick, I'll get the PC version of the game and get familiar with modding just to reskin the crap out of him!

I'd still romance him just because I've been waiting to do it for years. Same as I wouldn't have my Warden dump Alistair for being a bit rough looking LOL... I would however do a playthrough to romance the hot guy to see what his romance arc was like, but my canon DA3 game would always be the Cullen romance one... if he's even romanceable.

I wonder what the art style will be like in DA3? Ah man, I hope they don't mess his face up!

lol yes! I thought all the elves looked like stretched out versions of E.T. I think they know who the companions are also. Aw man, guess theres no more hope in me pursuading them to add Cullen as a companion, unless he already is one. I think they mentioned that they weren't changing the art style up much though so hopefully Cullen will still be attractive. I think we all know Cassandra's going to be a companion or at least I'm about 70% sure. I also think we're getting an old companion back, my guess is it'll either be Morrigan, Leliana, Varric, or Shale. Possibly Oghren?They have to know how high the fan demand is for Cullen, I think it's even higher than it was for Anders!

I think if an old character comes back it'll have to be one of the non-romanceable ones because there are too many variables that could go wrong if it was someone like Leliana for example, because fans would moan if you couldn't romance her and people would moan if you could because she might have romanced your Warden in DA:O or behave out of character etc. So maybe the returning companion might be Finn from Awakening or Shale, Oghren, or maybe even Varric or Aveline.

I really don't want Cassandra as a companion, I don't know why, I just don't like her lol. How did fans catch the attention of the Dev's in order to get Anders as a companion again in DA2?

I thought I was the only one who thought he looked much better in DAA. Glad I'm not alone!
If they bring Alistair back I realllly hope they fix him up:unsure:

I really don't want them to bring Alistair back, it makes me nervous about what they'll do to him both physically and storyline wise lol, though he probably will back again if he's King.

However, I don't think they should keep relying on DA:O cameo's because it'll feel like they are trying to make people like DA3 by riding off DA:O success. DA2 cameo's I don't mind because that's the current game and it would make sense for some of them to pop up, like Anders if you didn't kill him lol.
