Sometimes...I swear DG is hinting that Cullen will be a companion...
I cannot (well I can) believe how much hate that thread has in it, especially people snapping at DG about how the Bioware writers can't write good characters.
Really? I thought the complete opposite. As if to say that he's just a minor character so it's unusal for him to have such a large fanbase.

I think what he's marveling at is the sustained interest in Cullen. I
mean, he is and NPC, and not only has his thread not died out, but it's
grown more than some companion threads since DA2. It's grown with
discussion, and mirth, speculation, and hasn't descended in to flaming
drivel! Granted, the "Casino Royale" torture implication tweet to find
out more info on DA3 was a little ... Well it isn't hard to see why he
thinks of Cullen fans as weirdos sometimes[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]
David Gaider can't comment one way or the other other about Cullen's appearance in game, so I don't feel too deflated by his comments in that other thread. He's stated before that he thinks Cullen is a character that has potential when commenting on him being the "voice of reason" in Kirkwall. The fact that he said he could imagine angst in Cullen's future, and that we all know he likes writing characters that will take us on an emotional roller coaster ride, leaves me cautiously optimistic.
