Several days ago in DA3 forum when that "For love..." thread was open someone comes in and starts swearing at everyone and calling them names (me included) simply because some other person told him something and the guy just gets angry and pours his anger on us.
AND to add salt to injury, in DA3 thread I made a topic about suggesting catfights between LIs and someone comes in and insults me, I don't know why but his post wounded me deeply.
There's so much hate in there and the jealous little boys keep insulting us girls and boys for loving Cullen....I'm just so sick of all this hating.

Ah, sorry, Parmida, indeed BSN can be brutal.
Ugh, chimed in again on the Cullen thread... and my pulse is now literally racing. So. Mad.

OK... back to work. Blood pressure not handling this...

Do you suppose that if Cullen is a romancable companion we'll find out that his lack of "action/women" in recent years is due to the trauma he endured at Kinloch Hold, specifically being tormented with illusions of his female mage crush (if you played as the female mage Warden) and that he has come to view his sexuality as a weakness, and simply doesn't allow himself to indulge those feelings at all anymore/at all because he needed to remain focused on his job/duties.

I can easily picture him being exactly like this. I'm thinking that he would try his hardest not to fall in love again because he's just had so much trauma in his life and he doesn't want to get hurt again or doesn't want to hurt you. I believe that that's why he became the Knight-Captain because he gave all of himself to his work and tried to forget about  his feelings and women.

I really hope we do find out what's going on inside that head of his.

Yes, I hope so too Mayra. Whatever they decide to do with him should be interesting simply because there's so many possibilities. I look forward to some camp time, or chatting on the road scenarios like in DAO. I have to admit, it was a bit disappointing for me that each companion only had one thing to say when wandering around every chapter in DA2. More interaction/personality delving ftw!

So... little miss activist in me... I PMd Chris Priestly. :o Probably won't do anything since I'm sure they have certain criteria for shutting down a thread... but at least I did something proactive.

So... I'm sure I'll start feeling better .... soon... :crying:

I like this idea, too. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he has a "why would someone love me" sort of complex, or "I'm no good for you; don't love me" sort of thing. Of course, the latter has been done to death with Anders... but I still imagine that could be an issue for him.

I also wanted to go back to something I think motomotogirl said recently about how he may have difficulty dealing with issues of the individual instead of the collective. I find this is a really interesting idea... He has spent his whole life/career working on behalf of the greater good. Switching gears to care for the needs of one individual, or Maker forbid, himself, might be against his nature.  How interesting and yet totally sucky would that be to deal with (and overcome, obviously)? I love it!!

edit: I sorta wish we had that ability to flag someone's name so they knew we were talking about them, and then they can magically appear!  Hmm... it always seems to work with littlenikki..  :D But then... she may actually BE beetlejuice. LOL

Today I went to university and when the professor came in he looked exactly like Cullen in DA2 but with black hair.
And I couldn't keep myself from staring at him.
His smile was so beautiful that could charm anyone,he was tall and as handsome as Cullen, I could barely hear him. but he is married 'cause he had the marriage ring.
I guess that's why I got so emotional now, so emotional that this Cullen bashing made me cry, literally.
I think I'm really sad, and I've fallen in love with a game character.
I guess you think I'm crazy now, and I believe you if you do.

OMG, where does he live?? LOL

No, don't be sad, be ecstatically happy that someone so lovely exists and makes the world a brighter place.

OK... more Culleny goodness. Some almost realworld Cullens...

Soooo.... Cullen is the Borg? lol Could be an interesting concept, to be sure. How does one go from one extreme to the other - from being responsible for the collective to being a party of one? Would it be more similar to a twisted "empty nest syndrome" or a "mid life crisis"? Would he have the urge to run out and buy a fast horse to impress the ladies now that he's free?

Ha, lucky you, all my professors are old dudes, well except for the female grad student.

And as for the bashing, well, people will get like that, you've seen it. The only thing to really do is ignore it, because in the end, you know why you appreciate a character like Cullen, you have your reasons whether or not people will accept them.

Phooey! I just visited the forum thread about Cullen and was reading up on what had happened. Seriously, what guy in his right mind is stupid enough to think he can make maligning, generalizing statements about women in a public forum? And then the guy who was like "What's your problem?" I'm just like "Are you for real, right now?" <_< I was forming a reply... but when I went to post it, I couldn't. I'm glad Chris locked it though. Good on you girls for sticking up to those jerks! :D:wizard:

Ok. We seriously need at least one angry smiley... <_<

Edit: Oh! And hi everyone! *waves*

You're just trying to get us to trot out those horsewashing pics again, aren't you? LOL ;)

But, good questions. If you're mostly worried about the collective, small inconveniences of the individual would just be bumps in the road, right? You just gotta suck it up. I could see him treating himself that way, with PC having to remind him that it's ok to want things for himself. I could also seem him  being conflicted about such inconveniences for PC... like he wants to protect her individually from something, but that conflicts somehow with what's important for the group. So he's conflicted. He does it anyway, but then kicks himself about it.

Don't you just love when something like that happens? :D I saw a guy that had Cullen's bone structure and blonde hair. His lips were too thin and the eyes were a bright blue, though. What broke the mesmerizing moment was his mouth. When he opened it, he sounded... like a redneck. And he was chewing tobacco. Way to have a living fantasy bubble popped.
