Do you suppose that if Cullen is a romancable companion we'll find out that his lack of "action/women" in recent years is due to the trauma he endured at Kinloch Hold, specifically being tormented with illusions of his female mage crush (if you played as the female mage Warden) and that he has come to view his sexuality as a weakness, and simply doesn't allow himself to indulge those feelings at all anymore/at all because he needed to remain focused on his job/duties.
I can easily picture him being exactly like this. I'm thinking that he would try his hardest not to fall in love again because he's just had so much trauma in his life and he doesn't want to get hurt again or doesn't want to hurt you. I believe that that's why he became the Knight-Captain because he gave all of himself to his work and tried to forget about his feelings and women.
I really hope we do find out what's going on inside that head of his.
He finally closed the thread, thanks R2R2s Muse wrote...
So... little miss activist in me... I PMd Chris Priestly.Probably won't do anything since I'm sure they have certain criteria for shutting down a thread... but at least I did something proactive.
So... I'm sure I'll start feeling better .... soon...

I like this idea, too. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he has a "why would someone love me" sort of complex, or "I'm no good for you; don't love me" sort of thing. Of course, the latter has been done to death with Anders... but I still imagine that could be an issue for him.Narcia_ wrote...

Yes, I hope so too Mayra. Whatever they decide to do with him should be interesting simply because there's so many possibilities. I look forward to some camp time, or chatting on the road scenarios like in DAO. I have to admit, it was a bit disappointing for me that each companion only had one thing to say when wandering around every chapter in DA2. More interaction/personality delving ftw!

Today I went to university and when the professor came in he looked exactly like Cullen in DA2 but with black hair.
And I couldn't keep myself from staring at him.
His smile was so beautiful that could charm anyone,he was tall and as handsome as Cullen, I could barely hear him. but he is married 'cause he had the marriage ring.
I guess that's why I got so emotional now, so emotional that this Cullen bashing made me cry, literally.
I think I'm really sad, and I've fallen in love with a game character.
I guess you think I'm crazy now, and I believe you if you do.

I also wanted to go back to something I think motomotogirl said recently about how he may have difficulty dealing with issues of the individual instead of the collective. I find this is a really interesting idea... He has spent his whole life/career working on behalf of the greater good. Switching gears to care for the needs of one individual, or Maker forbid, himself, might be against his nature. How interesting and yet totally sucky would that be to deal with (and overcome, obviously)? I love it!!
edit: I sorta wish we had that ability to flag someone's name so they knew we were talking about them, and then they can magically appear! Hmm... it always seems to work with littlenikki..But then... she may actually BE beetlejuice. LOL

Soooo.... Cullen is the Borg? lol Could be an interesting concept, to be sure. How does one go from one extreme to the other - from being responsible for the collective to being a party of one? Would it be more similar to a twisted "empty nest syndrome" or a "mid life crisis"? Would he have the urge to run out and buy a fast horse to impress the ladies now that he's free?

Phooey! I just visited the forum thread about Cullen and was reading up on what had happened. Seriously, what guy in his right mind is stupid enough to think he can make maligning, generalizing statements about women in a public forum? And then the guy who was like "What's your problem?" I'm just like "Are you for real, right now?" <_< I was forming a reply... but when I went to post it, I couldn't. I'm glad Chris locked it though. Good on you girls for sticking up to those jerks!
:wizard:
Ok. We seriously need at least one angry smiley... <_<
Edit: Oh! And hi everyone! *waves*
